Dear Sleuth, I like your deep dive video's of the Chosen, When they swapped the "Big James" they hit a home run, however, when they did the switch of "Phillip" they struck our. The new phillip is a looser. Tell Dallas to bring the Old Phillip back, ASAP. Keep up the great work you are doing.
Ok i'm sorry but its my brain....does anyone else get "Frodo Baggins" vibes from the guy suspected to be Mark? I lost it when he paused and mentioned the guy behind Jonathan Roumie and the first thought i had was "Frodo Baggins?" lol
Yes, you have to be amused by the Renaissance (?) artists not thinking about culture and everything that goes along with it. We're not at all perfect, even out greatest artists. So appreciate the art for what the time knew. If my history knowledge is correct, they were coming out of the Dark Ages.
Mark was like 14 here. The theory that the last supper was in his house makes no sense. The Last Supper was done in a kataluma or upstairs room. The theory that Mark helped preparing the dinner or carried water makes no sense either. Mark was a rich kid with servants in his house. Even wearing an expensive linen cloth as pajama in the garden. Mark would have dressed in colorful clothes not slaves clothes. 12 years later Peter sought refuge in his house during the reign of Herod Aggripa. Mark was about 23 here and single.

Regardless if they were accurate in your eyes or not, art is subjective…… I doubt highly that real humans posed for that painting, so please assume this was the artist understanding , and they although they may not be “accurate” it’s their interpretation, not yours. It’s called Art for a reason….. not photography.

It was just supposed to be a funny retort as we have over the centuries realized that Jesus was a jewish man not an Italian or Spanish man and fully God! :)
