Thank you! I have been sewing for 14 years, and I have gone through sewing courses at school, got a bachelor degree in Clothing and textile technology and patternmaking. But my most efficient learning were mistakes and trials, I would say ☺️
Yes, you can extend it! Slash it in the middle and add length between new pieces. But make sure you slash the front wrap piece not paralell to it's hem, but in the middle of how it is sewn to the skirt, so not perpendicular to the grainline. Connect these new slashed pieces with a line to the bottom points.
Did anyone have an issue with the belt? When I tried to sew it to the skirt I couldn’t as the belt was too short in lenght compared to the skirt waist. I went and checked the pattern and indeed the belt is shorter. Is that normal? I’m a beginner so not really sure. I’m planning on cutting a new belt longer…

Finishing the corners like that didn't work for me, I followed both the video and written instructions. Now I've got a square missing from each corner and I don't know how to fix it 😣
Oops! You have done something wrong if you have the entire corner missing! 😳 Maybe try to fold it as you understand it should be in the finished way with this 45 degree seam and you will figure it out? Have you trimmed all seam allowances on the corner too?
@@soundbykaty So there is no way to finish corners absolutely? 😳I suggest you folding and pressing it first as you think it should be in the finished way. I think it will help a lot to understand what you should sew together! (If seam allowances are trimmed right) The last idea is to finish the edges with overlocker and just put one hem on another and finish the corner point with hands, if I imagine the situation when you have trimmed this corner away entirely 😅

There is no such option included in the pattern, but you can lengthen it yourself as much as you need :)

Are you talking about the belt or facing pieces? Because the belt here is nothing to do with the waist, it's on the side.
