Best forehand video I’ve ever seen. Casual 3.5 player here who’s never had lessons and looking to get better. I have a little boy who’s making great progress and I don’t want to be surpassed…yet. This video really opened my eyes to a lot of things especially my racket position in the power stance.
Great lesson as always! Make contact in front, keep arm relaxed (grip too!), coil and uncoil the upper body, load and unload the lower body. Timing everything just right…..all good. Thanks Simon
Great video Simon, thank you! Would be great if you could do a video on dealing with match nerves/mental strength. I play great in practice but technique goes sometimes in competitions, and also have problems sometimes closing out on key points
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial Thanks you for replying back. If i'm not mistaken you've never made a vídeo about how to play according to difference in surfaces. Just an idea. All the best from Portugal
Very nice video, would love to see a video on how to make adjustments mid game. I struggle with adjusting my strokes mid game so I usually am only hitting well in the second set
Try to hit the ball when it’s either rising (aggressive option) or when the ball has dropped (defensive option) Also work on improving the high backhand, good players will exploit that sort of weakness. All the best Simon
How about a video on when the reverse forehand should be used. I see the pros using it a lot more often these days. All the why’s, when’s and how would be great.
Hey Simon, for the forehand and backhand ready position, do you have to have your racquet in a "hands on the wall" position at the start? I see some of my friends just skip that step and start with their racquet low
If the racket head is higher, it creates leverage right from the start. Some players don’t do it, and create leverage later on. Try different methods and see what works best for your game. All the best Simon
I videoed my own forehand and found my non-dominant hand is very soft and weak. But professional players seem to have a very firm/tight left hand during the forward swing process. The same thing is for serve: the tossing arm is firm/tight at the trophy position. Why the non-hitting arm is so firm in the forehead and serve strokes? Thanks
Unfortunately we don’t have many videos of the WTA players. Only a few clips and often they don’t show exactly what we’re teaching. We planned on filming more of the WTA players last year, but have been unable to travel to the US events due to the restrictions on UK citizens

A great video sir...
I need help to get more power on my forehands and I use the extreme grip does using the extreme grip lead to lack of power?
An extreme grip will definitely hinder the power, we cover that here - ruclips.net/video/x2HNuIbmpMM/видео.html
i have one question what to do in doubles if your backhand is not your best shot and the slice is often to high can you give me advice
Try to hit the ball when it’s either rising (aggressive option) or when the ball has dropped (defensive option)
Also work on improving the high backhand, good players will exploit that sort of weakness.

It starts the kinetic chain with the upper body, it acts as a balancer and helps to track the ball 👍

Essential Tennis Vs Top Tennis Training!
👍
@@TopTennisTrainingOfficial I guess that'd be a vicious mismatch.
racket drop on edge or racket drop in the pat the dog postion???
Up to each player individually. Experiment and see which style suits you more 👍

It good explanations but why do you only use men videos for your examples. It would be nice to see women tennis also.

Women’s tennis is a different game the goal is just to club the ball flat and hard
