    really great videos covers our central asia. Thanks a lot for your work. l want to point out two small mistakes in the video:
    1, Kygyzstan is not on Altay mountains, but on Tianshan mountains;
    2, Soviets didn't divert water directly from Aral sea, but from two rivers (Amu dariya and Sir dariya) which are the main source of Aral sea. Aral sea is too salty for irrigation;

    Just finished reading "The Silk Road A New History" that you mentioned. Fascinating book. When I saw this notification, I had to watch it. Now my wanderlust is kicking in again.

    Fascinating! Thank you so much for sharing all this! I always wanted to see the land where a lot of Persian mathematicians and scientists came before the Mongol invasion. Is there a tour that we can take? Do we need visas? Much appreciated!

      Why would you want history to be true?

      @@acolyte1951 I’m stating the OPPOSITE. Tolstoy was a highly educated man in his time, a member of the Russian nobility who spoke several languages and had access to significant resources. He knew that most of the official version of history is not exactly factual. As the saying goes, “history is written by the victors.”
