    Thank you for the excellent video and the directions. I took my GX460 -2.5 lift kit, KO2s, and didnt have any problem with obstacles. Followed the fire roads. Your directions on the off shoots to avoid totally helped. In the fire road descent section, there were a couple of off camber lines. Kept me at the edge, but managed well. Thank you!

    Watched this video in the morning on August 22, went out and ran this trail today and also Pilot Rock. Cleghorn was a little challenging looking in a few spots but my Grand Cherokee Trailhawk had no problems at all with it. Some dude did roll on one of the harder offshoots tho, so be careful. Thanks for the video, made the vague intersections easy to navigate!

    Wow, it got noticeably worse from when I went up on June 21. Stock Kia Telluride with AT tires. Made it but I did scrape the bottom front bumper pretty good. I did go to the right of the punchbowl, luckily there is a spot to do a 3point turn right before it drops in. Came away with a few nice pinstripes. I'd say this is pretty much the limit of most SUVs because of approach angles and ground clearance. I love your channel. Please keep the easy stuff coming and maybe add an SUV category to what can make the trail? This Covid shutdown has a lot of new off-roaders like myself taking the family truckster out into the fields.

      Do you think a AWD Rav4 with 8.5 inches of clearance should attempt this?

    • @sir_spam-alot
      @sir_spam-alot 4 года назад

      @@Kirb3000DB Should be okay on clearance. I would recommend having AT tires if only for puncture resistance. Also know that you'll probably get some light pinstriping from the bushes; sometimes the line you have to take will put you right to the edge.

      NotaRubicon Productions oh awesome, well I’m happy to do my part to help keep the 4x4 community updated. There was only one part on the “fire road” where I used my rear locker, the second challenge where you squeezed by on the driver side. I probably could have gone without but I figured hey I have the gear so I might as well just role through slow and steady. Anyway, big fan of your videos and appreciate the time you take to do these guides. I started wheeling a few years ago by watching your videos so I had at least some idea of what to do lol. Hope to see you out on the trails!

    Watched the video Sunday morning; hit the trial Sunday afternoon. Good amount of traffic. Definitely some huge potholes - came across a couple broken vehicles, including a Chevrolet Traverse that blew out a rim and tire after one of the rutted sections (he really had NO business on the trail given the current state of the roadbed.). There is also some pretty "angry" shrubs and brush along the trail - left several good "trail stripes" on the passenger side of the H1. Jeeps will fare much better in the narrow, heavy brush sections. Good Time. Thanks for posting this updated review of the trail and the GPX file. Lots of off-shoots and the GPX file adds confidence we're on the right path.

    The fire road now is about as difficult as the off-shoots were back when did them in the early 90's in my 2WD F150. I only got stuck once going downhill on the final off-shoot after cresting the peak. I was running on 3 inches of lift, 33" BFG AT's an Auburn limited slip with 4.11 gears. It was scraping both side in a few spots but was no big deal. I would think twice about the off-shoots in my 4WD prerunner now. Over use and heavy rain ruts have changed it a lot over the years.

    I wish I had seen your video before I went to Cleghorn. I just found out that I did indeed take "Hell's Road" and this was my first time ever doing actual off-roading usually I would go in the sand dunes which that's fairly simple. However thanks to my auntie's training and experience (she's a veteran Jeep rock climbing off-roader) I got through Hell's Road with flying colors and boy what an experience what an adventure, I won't lie I was a little worried but I didn't allow fear to take over. There is a wrecked Jeep on a turn going on to Hell's Road you'll know you've hit Hell's Road when you see the wrecked Jeep I think it's been there for years as a landmark. I am so proud of myself I accomplished it by myself all alone and nobody was in front of me or behind me I went on a non busy day on a weekday and I came out with an awesome Fantastic Adventurous time. I do not recommend anyone who is brand-new to go alone. They really need to see this video. Again if it wasn't for my aunts experience and teachings I would have probably called in the Ranger and would have needed air lift support or something like that. I am so happy and proud of myself. 🤙

    It’s definitely rutted in some spots, was there on 7/4/20. Wouldn’t recommend if you only have 2wd. Stayed on the fire road the entire way. I got stuck on @7:47 going on the left side just like the Jeep in the video. Lost traction on 3 wheels, got high centered, soft sand on the left there’s a metal wash pipe you drive over. Stacked some rocks under the wheel & got right out. Running a ‘18 4Runner w AT tires no lift. Talked to the park ranger on the trail he says it’s way more rutted than normal and will likely be graded early next year.
