Thank you so much man I was just helping my mom move her furniture and my uncle accidentally scratched a hole in her new leather couch so this helped me save his ass good lookin out🤙
Thanks for the content! It came out pretty good! However, I think that you could have spent just a little more time mixing the kit's colors to match a little darker. Even if you mixed just a little more brown into what you mixed, your die would have covered it more easily. The other important information that I gained from your video was that this Pernatx kit includes about same materials as the more expensive 3M leather & vinyl repair kit, including the backing material sheet as well as 3 different texture sheets. 😊
I know this is now a older video but I thought this cheaper repair kit did a respectable job with a seat that has normal wear anyways. Only thing I thought about if more time was taken smoothing and feathering the application it would of came out even better. Also probably started with several finer coats. Still not to shabby.
you use the color guide to mix up a match. I have leather dye, so I just got it a generic tax color and then used my dye to match the seats. I bought a dye online using the GM color code
@@gregs_garage I am not asking I was telling you, permatex has a video of how to properly use the stuff. If your going to put out an instructional video you could at the very least know how to use the product you demonstrated.
@@carlosv2474 my repair looks great 1 year later! you can ask or tell or whatever makes you feel important. I'm driving the ZR1 tomorrow and this vid has all kinds of compliments and has paid for the Permatex kit 10x already!
@@carlosv2474 I looked for the video on the permatex website and YT channel couldn't find it. I think he did a good job. I've had this product for a few years and the written instructions were confusing so I haven't used it and the hole in the seat is getting bigger. You don't need to be dismissive, it's not nice.
Ummm the glue as you called it is the filler material. You didn't quit do it properly and the color you came out with is way off.. yes you can match color exactly you just need to mix it with more. Also cardboard absorbs this kind of stuff so your losing a lot of material.
I mean the final results looked great! Have you seen the official video? The official video, the results look terrible. This guys video will be the reason I decide to try this kit out on my repair. I may even buy some exact match leather paint for my car as well just so I can have a similar result as him

Just FYI, never point a heat gun so close to your car seat or anything except what you intend to heat.
Dayuuuumm broo, that came out better than I expected wpwpwp
That makes 2 of us
Thanks for making this instructional video. Very helpful.
Great job looks a lot better. Thanks for sharing...
Great explanation and result. Thank you for sharing this.
Trying to decide between coconix, 3m, or permatex. Thanks for the thorough walkthrough.

I agree the Color was off. But I had the dye anyway to go on top
Great video and love the Vette! I’m watching it to fix a tear in my C5. Thanks.
Helpful video 👍 good to know with some patience and effort great results can be achieved for cheap
"Great Results"? Nah, but good enough for government work. Thanks for the video.

Not too shabby at all.
Great job. Thank you for sharing the info
Nice job. Thanks.
How long does the curing time take? Overnight?
yes a couple of hours at least. I left it overnight.
Thanks, good job !
Looks good ! 👍😉
Where did you get the dye? I need it for my gray seats
online dye seller. look him up
How to you know what dye to use ? Barry

do i need to put the adhesive cream if i just want to cover the markers stain on my bag plssss answer back my comment
or i will just use the paint alone?
Paint alone
Do you have to wait the actual 4 hrs for dry time?
more time is better. this is a job for the patient.
Your supposed to use the actual filler to fill rather than the paint compound. Permatex has a video that shows the actual way to do it
I don’t think so

I guess compering initial amount of white and brown your "small amount of yellow" and "very small ... black" should be appropriately bigger.
yes more care is needed to match. I have the proper leather dye for the seat so I just wanted some sort of beige to start with.
looks great. don't forget the gauze bandages 😂
Where did you get your leather dye😂from
See the other video where I dye the leather
Looks good! How long will the repair last?
should last a long time. These repairs are pretty strong.
you did it wrong, you werent supposed to heat up the first adhesive, you were supposed to heat up the dye adhesive, its to create a texture
He only uses heat for the final color material, just like the instructions say. He never heats the first adhesive. He lets it dry overnight.
Hey sir I’m trying to do this exact job at this moment. Could you give me a text or video chat me when you get time ?

I was not concerned about color as I had the correct leather dye
@Carlos V Please send a link to your video so we can see it done correctly.

This video was so painful to watch. You should not make a video on how to fix something when you have no clue how to fix it yourself
Thanks for watching! Video is making good money and the Patch looks good 2 years later! Show us how it’s done!
