Aw, I actually like this figure, precisely because the transformation is so different from jkust about anything else. I will admit to liking it much more after about eight hours of trimming away bits of plastic so the shoulders can go down even with his sides, and the front wheels squish inward to fill out a longer wiast instaead of folding up into the backpack - but I also did cut things loose enough to transform the official way and have the head all the way up instead of droooping down intyo the chest. Really the big problem though is that his hips are WAY too far forwzrard compared to the shoulders and neck, which the longer waist solves by flipping the crotch part backward instead of folding it up and in.
I still want to get this figure. I want it mainly because there is no FOC Ironhide and I am in the Classics/Universe2.0/Generations scaling. I would be in the Masterpiece scale idea, but it's way too late for me to get into it, btw did you hear about the 30th anniversary Masterpiece Megatron. Hasbro said that they'll "FIX" the problems with the original.
Yeah, TFSource emailed me about its horrid appearance. It looks horrible, it still scales horrible and probably still transforms horrible so guess what I'm not paying 200 bucks for On a side note I will admit FoC/WFC ironhide would've been sweet
A good "classics" line Ironhide figure that's not 3rd party is the Takara Transformers Prime Arms Micron Ironhide. He's a truck, not a van, but is still red and has a good G1 style head.
nice. to be honest, I'm kind of getting out of classics stop motion if I can help it and switching over to MP. decepticons are missing a leader and the autobots have a few members, hopefully more soon = P
Hey, I can’t blame anyone for buying/keeping some Classics figures. When done well, they’re really cool. That is, when done well… As for MP, granted there are a few official/3P with issues, but for the most part, the design and options are great. 👍
Here's what people need to realize when it comes to third-party figures not all of them are perfect example being Perfect Effect Beast Gorira which is a third-party Optimal Optimus and that figure had a loose waist swivel and loose ankle swivel.
It baffles me that we get two blitzwings two g1 megatrons and two trailbreakers in the span of 4 years and still don't have a good chug ironhide. I'm currently using a slightly painted gdo swerve as my ironhide.
Davie L arts now that yiu mention it, that is a little strange. but I suppose not all that surprising. to make a van is a lot harder than it looks. look at the MP even that figure couldn't even get the proportions 100% accurate and it relied on shell forming to boot

Great review, although ironhide is not the best figure I still want him just because I like the universe line, that's just me plus ironhide is one of my favorite characters, glad to her that your feeling better btw. :)
Doing reviews of figures you have no interest in....XD I had this figure and sold it when it commanded stupid prices on eBay. Never opened it so I guess I was spared from the horridness. I actually got it to customize into a Soundwave, but never opened it. I have to say I don't' think the custom paint made it look any better....I'm guessing it was one of your first figures you customized? Keep up the great reviews...and it looks like you have a new intro logo now. I preferred the Lego build one...but it's your channel....take care and STAY HEALTHY!!! XD

I was actually considering getting this guy some time in my future XD but now I have definitely changed my mind! His car mode has just way to many panel lines! The only mode that looks "ok" is his robot mode! Then again, I never keep my figures in alt mode XD but he just doesn't look worth the money :\ (glad you feel better!)

Oh I'm not saying there's anything wrong with pink in itself. In fact I have a pink shirt and tie for occasions where I wear a suit I'm saying that for Ironhide, A deep red is what suits him best. Not blue. Not black, and certainly not pink And it isn't like they haven't pulled red off before. Perceptor for instance. Or the red on universe Ratchet Basically, they screwed this figure up royally from paint to mold
