I worked as a joiner for fifty years carried my hammer everywhere even in the street of Glasgow Scotland where the laws are strict even in court and police stations only I stopped once walking past Glasgow Central railway station I showed my works I'd by two police the woman said I could get charged for having a weapon but the police man said it OK next time keep it in a bag nice video Alec from Scotland

I’d rather use the painful end of the hammer to strike aka the hammerhead because if you use the handle you lose too much power

You could make a really cool effective self defense hammer with a cold steel war hammer. You can customize the handle length to your purposes.
