We love how simple and "not so simple" Austin's ambulance build is. What was your favourite part? You can find him on IG @concussion_cabin or here on RUclips: Concussion Cabin Thanks for watching!
I’m sold on doing an ambulance conversion. Been leaning toward an AWD T350 raised roof extended body, but the more I research, the more obvious a retired ambulance is the way to go. Having been a fire/medic for 11 years, I’m very familiar with the specs and systems. Also, dropping 70k on a new van before even starting a build out isn’t all that appealing. BTW, Austin, there were never CO2 cartridges in your shoe slide out, but it might be a good place to store your whip it’s. Just say N20
Built a 2011 e450 shuttle bus, 18 months ago. It got crushed by a tree. Luckily, I was able to find a 2005 e450, type 3 ambulance, with a bad motor, for a decent price. Bought it yesterday. Definitely going more towards leaving it as is, and just swapping my engine, solar, etc., over to the ambulance. I can't build better storage compartments, than are already in it.
What is the insulation like that comes on the ambulance? In warmer weather like the south west us does it stay semi cool in the summer or is an AC unit a must
Could not be a squatter, as required by vanlife. Even this unit, headroom is insufficient. If I am living somewhere, I cannot be stooping or ducking in my own residence. Would need a higher roofline.

Intent to drive sounds like such a crazy law like you’re basically going to be arrested for doing something that you didn’t do
So true
Thanks for your videos
Thanks!
Nice rig!
At the end of the video. There was a mention of Earth Medic(s) ambulance. Is there a video on that particular Ambo? Cheers.
There isn’t! I briefly met him but I only think he has RUclips. He flips 4x4 ambulances, very cool stuff - his Instagram is Earth_Medic
@@nickandraychel he’s got one for sale near me that I’ve been looking at on Facebook. Weird to see his name mentioned in the comments!
Ambo is the way to go if your looking for the best bang for the buck$
So true!
How can you do shore power?
You had the camera on him way too long instead of showing us the equipment.

Strap your batteries down. Excessive vibration will shorten their life. If you wreck, they could start a fire.
Nick and Rachael's van is better.
Austin's van is a great budget option for those who care less about the frills and want to get on the road efficiently!
@@nickandraychel the real question is: -where does he hide his mushrooms 🍄? Case he looked stoned as shit.
