Buidt this kit, and it was absolute fun with a fine result. No need of putty. Modified mine with Eduard PE and SpecialHobby Exhausts which I had left in my spare-parts-box. 😉
Real "chipping" just can't be surpassed by even the best painters. Your work on this I-16 is remarkable!!! That chipping on the cowling is just perfection. I love this build!!!
Suggestion from an armor modeler: spray the entire wheels dark gray, then use a circle template to mask and spray the inner portions. Gives a neat, clean demarcation between hubs and tires.
Very descriptive, much better than most videos on other models. At this scale very detailed work can be done, and It seems a very good model, you have decided me to buy one. Thanks for the vid and GOOD JOB!!
Yes, no matter the scale one works in (me 1/72 &1/48 WW1 aircraft), it is best to do these sort of videos in the larger scales so you can clearly see what's goin on; you can always "down-size" to suit yourself, for your own builds. Good and helpful tips for any aircraft model build.
Una magistral clase de modelismo...en buenas manos, resulta algo formidable para quien la ve y reconfortante para quien la muestra. Te sigo por tu canal, un cordial y grato saludo desde Madrid.

@@SquadronMMD yes, interesting, never saw that before! I use lead foil from the wine bottle top wrapper. Now, what to do with that pretty colored liquid inside the bottle.. what to do... what to do.. hick...:D
Looks good! Iv got the IL2 m3 in 1.35 to build the detail is stunning same kinda clear dials in cockpit nice to see the way you did that looks great! Iv got the Russian patriotic airforce vallijo paint kit for it goona do white 1 flown by hero Ivan F. Pavlov it's got the bird with the red Crest decal nice touch dont look like an eagle but maybe you will know.? Its from hobby boss got engine clear cover and MGs in wings you can display with them clear parts really looking forward to this build!
Hello from Spain your model is GREAT,but you humor is better.I think drink thinner its not too healthy.Hahhahahhahahahaha,Any way congratulations for you 1-16!!!!
Yes I did. I always thin my paints even when the manufacturer states not to. Usually I add 1/3rd thinner. But to your point, every paint varies. I just like mine thin and airbrush in layers. Thanks for the comment!
yes, like about 35 times as much as the equivalent Windsor and Newton Winton (student grade) oil paints (which I use)!! But he gets his materials free. But I'm wondering, where does a guy get, or need, hair spray, especially if he is "bald as a cue ball"! LOL.
Nice kit/build. I bet these planes assuming they were still around by '41 like most of the obsolete Russian air force were easy pickings for even the earliest Me109's in the air. I've read where most of the Bolshevist planes were destroyed on the ground in the early days of the war due to Stalin's purges of anyone in the military that knew anything. It's amazing to me that even to this day that most people that think they know history do not know that both Russia *and* Germany invaded Poland at the same time *as allies*, but only Germany got war declared against it for doing so by the West, especially being that they were trying to save their people/lands who got stuck behind the 'new' (post WWI) border who were being robbed, raped and abused. Imagine if the US was stripped of Texas, AZ, NM and Cali after a war by the UN and the Mexican government who now controlled them were allowing US citizens there to be robbed of their lands, business's and were being murdered and raped by the thousands and the US 'invaded' their own lands to save them...then got blamed for 'starting' another world war. Eventually histories truth's come out.

Hey squadron thanks for reply will be eagerly awaiting its return ,Tomcat too ? Cheers
Cute! But does this guy have a model kit stash or what!!!
Nice Job Jeff. Did you thin the Vallejo Model Air for spraying? I find the viscosity varies.

Great build ! Never seen Milliput used to make seat belts . do you have a tutorial on how to do it ? Thanks ! Tony

I could have sworn that box was shrink wrapped when he nabbed it from the shelf.
That's how hard I landed on the kit. The shrink wrap just disintegrated. lol!
Is that a Master Parachutists badge tattoo on your arm there?
Aren't those Abteitlung colors kind of expensive compared to regular oil paints you can get at a craft store.

Hey squadron what happened to mosquito build cheers
It will be addressed in future videos. Not forgotten, I assure you. Modelers won't let me forget it!☺
@@SquadronMMD Guess it got swatted!!!
How long did this kit take to complete? It looks great.
Respecting dry time for paint and glue, I built it over a 3 day period.
@@SquadronMMD a so-called "weekend build" eh? Nice!!
Great build but as far as the comedy goes ...don' t give up your day job
Taking acting lessons!

are you kidding? Have you seen what "passes for comedy" now a days??! I actually had a laugh at this for a change!
)))
worst chipping ever saw
can't take this serious with bad jokes and wasteful use of materials, some comment on accuracy and kit options would be welcome
