The first 30 seconds of that match against Fit Finlay were an absolute beating. Busted open by Jericho's first move, his kick is blocked by a slam, his retaliatory lariat is blocked, then Jericho dumps him on his head with his own move (That brutal tombstone, but with a cradle for added impact). Ouch!
This is a long time ago but yeah. Out of all the AKI games on N64 this game had THE most difficult AI to deal with. The other games they're not TOO crazy with reversals, and Mania 2000 and No Mercy there's a few exploits you can use. Revenge AI on hard difficulty is ridiculous.
I agree I always have to be on my best in Revenge; I feel like the AI is the most challenging of the AKI games. VPW2 is a close second, followed by Mania for me. I think No Mercy is the easiest with the exception of handicapped matches.
BeBetterGamer Wrestling The VPW2/World Tour AI to me is honestly better in terms of an opponent because the match becomes more strategical and leverage based than the later games. Revenge is just the CPU is given every opportunity to reverse and will take them, even if they're stunned.
lol yeah the AI is way smarter in VPW2, and the matches feel more strategic, I agree. The Revenge AI is just a bunch of cheese lol...it's interesting how they are both challenging, but in two different ways. Although I'll take "hard because the AI is smart" over "hard because the AI is cheap" any day.
