In this video, I will show the original Recipe of Yemeni Mandi. Yemeni cuisine if very famous all over the world. This mandi recipe is authentic as it is used in many restaurants.
Written Ingredients:
Lamb Leg 1.5kg
Rice 1.5 kg
Salt as required
Onion 4medium
Ginger 1tbs
Garlic 1tbs
Dried lemon 2
Yellow Food Color
Orange Food Color
Whole Masala:
Cloves 5gms
Fennel Seeds 8gms
Green Cardamom 8gms
Cinamon 9gms
Bay leaves 7 pcs
Cumin 30gms
Coriander 30gms
Black Pepper Corns 10gms
Mandi Masala

I used to eat Mandi in Dubai and Sharjah, mostly with my Arabic friend’s, having awesome taste didn’t know that much effort is required. You are an excellent chef 👍

Thank you for sharing, it is a simple recipe very much like a Pulao the only difference the meat is finally cooked in the oven. The dish of Yemen, Saudi Arabia and catching up in the Gulf, Pakistan and India.

This recipe looks delicious but it’s not how authentic mandi is made i have watched many mandi receipes including from originally yemeni chefs in youtube and even there was a video in which a yemeni chef was preparing a big mandi feast in his restaurant in qatar the rice is filled with water salt and whole spices and lamb meat(which is spiced with saffron or turmeric salt and pepper) is placed on top of the rice and it’s placed in stove underground (in restaurants or authentic yemeni style)or we can prepare it in the oven for home made version ,the idea is the juices from baked lamb or chicken meat should fall over baked rice that’s what make it mandi and give it unique and smokey taste also a charcoal can be placed in small tin with splash of oil to give the rice and meat a smokey flavor,rice cooked in broth is as any pulao or kabsa 😇

I have seen many mandi recipes which is totally different from mandi, adding ghee or applying grinded mandi powder to mutton,it changes the taste and flavor of this aunthentic dish called mandi.....I tried your recipe today, though it was different from all other mandi recipe videos on RUclips, but it exactly gve the same taste and flavour as restaurants...
