SLA line is a great choice Jeff. Regarding coffee, I've learned that the cheap espresso grind bricks in the "latin American" section of the grocery store is superior to anything but freshly ground coffee. And cheap too! Pilon, Cafe Bustlo, Caribe, etc. Probably have been using them for 15+ years now. I started with these coffee brands when we were just starting and always broke. We're doing great now, but still drink that "cheap" coffee because it cannot be beat until we hit Lavazza, or fresh ground.
I have the SLA065. It's a beautiful watch and one of my most worn. I'd enjoy seeing the meet up and your first impressions, so a video would be good. Looking forward to the update.
I am master of my own house. Yet, I too find myself tiptoeing around at dawn. See.. I am also wise, and I know my place... I tried a hand grinder, it quickly paled. Literally paled at light speed. Enjoy the new SLA Astrolabe
Get yourself a manual, ceramic conical burr grinder. Do the grind the night before for the next morning’s coffee. Thank me later. Enjoy that SLA065 and some delicious coffee. There’s nothing like freshly ground coffee! Well.. ground 8 hours before is the next best thing. 😊
There is nothing wrong with honing in on what it is you really prefer. And if you find yourself returning to the Seiko vintage diver design on a strap, I see nothing wrong with picking up another one to see which rises to the top of your hit list. But perhaps you can divest later on when you settle on the one that “leaps” to your wrist.
I also think there is a distinct possibility that your tastes have refined themselves and the SLA is meeting you at the place that you are currently in your life/collection/needs/wants/desires.
Just buy a regular coffee grinder...prep the night before....grind the beans and put in a sealed baggy then dump it in the A.M. Saw a warning on various cook items....toxicology reports on Teflon, plastic parts in air fryers etc.
Believe it or not I got an SLA066 the gold one from one of the jewelers in Rowland Heights. Got it for 1900 out the door magically flipped it on Chrono for $2500 in 2 days The ad copy was great it had 8s in the serial number some Chinese guy bought it. The flipping principle got me, now I have the regret of selling it because now I'm looking for another one. LMAO
My preference would be the SLA037 or SLA043 over the SLA065. The 065 is too similar to the SBDC053 for my taste. The 037 and 043 are more in keeping with the original 62MAS.
Considering that it has the 8l35, the price of the SLA065 seems fair. I am guessing that Seiko is hitting reality now that the pandemic hype is gone and people aren't paying ridiculous prices for watches anymore. I can see this piece losing value in the short term and rising or holding steady in the long term. I'd buy one used at a discount.
No matter what your videos are about, Jeff, you're a good teacher and story teller in my opinion. Keep going.
That SLA065 astrolabe is absolutley incredible
Have fun with your meeting! I really like your attitudes/suggestions for life in one’s sixties.

Exactly the same. All my watches have the same theme and I’ve too many.
I agree with the kettlebells and clubbells. They’re the fountain of youth 🍻
Two serial killers at one coffee shop. Who would have anticipated.

Have a great meet up and good luck with the watch.
Coffee can lead to "Watch" anxiety. Side effects can result in uncontrollably buying and reselling wrist watches ⌚
Have a good meet up Jeff! Post about how it went down when you get back
SLA043 come back! ❤❤❤

hahaha, I always says that! “ this will be my last last last watch 🤣🤣, and here i am with 20 watches later 😂
That 62Mas SLA is amazing
SLA017! That’s you!

Two words on coffee: Bialleti Brikka. The KISS principle.
👏👏👏👏
Highly recommend Porlex Jp-30 Stainless Steel Coffee Grinder. Even at 5am in the morning. 🤙
The Green Willard is a winner....
You got me by a little bit Jeffrey, Nov 22

YES McMahon, get that watch, seiko sla are awesome watches, look forward to the reviews and comparisons videos 👍🏻
Ah, ok, so you’re working your way back to her? The itch on the wrist 🤣❤️
There are benefits to running a coffee grinder at 5:30am, helps eliminate the sound of winding the SLA065 😉

Great vid, and a little of life's advice, with some watch talk
Thanks
Maybe the school is celebrating Canadian Thanksgiving.

Sell the 143. Don't buy the blue SLA. Get the grey SLA and buy that blue "Willard".
