You look at the neck feathers (hackle feathers)!to tell if it’s a hen or a rooster. Hens have shorter neck feathers and are round on the end. Roosters have longer neck feathers and are pointed on the end. That’s how we told the difference with our chickens. Thank you for the wonderful videos. God Bless you Grandpa, Grandma and Matt!!

It'll also help the grass to grow if you sow some grass seeds and then spread the hay over it. Sow the grass heavy so that even if the chickens get some of it they won't get all of it. Sow it one morning before you let the chickens out. Keep it watered for a week or so.

You look at the neck feathers (hackle feathers)!to tell if it’s a hen or a rooster. Hens have shorter neck feathers and are round on the end. Roosters have longer neck feathers and are pointed on the end. That’s how we told the difference with our chickens. Thank you for the wonderful videos. God Bless you Grandpa, Grandma and Matt!!

It'll also help the grass to grow if you sow some grass seeds and then spread the hay over it. Sow the grass heavy so that even if the chickens get some of it they won't get all of it. Sow it one morning before you let the chickens out. Keep it watered for a week or so.
