How many owners of this car would even notice that the battery capacity isn’t what it should be? They will just be disappointed that the claimed range is even worse than they expected , accept it then do nothing about it and Cupra/VAG are laughing at them for not realising it and tell them that it must be the way that they are driving the car that they cannot get the full range.
Cars should show the actual battery capacity or battery health, like many phones do.
Tell wifey she must also supplement with vitamin K2 alongside the vitamin D3. Otherwise she could suffer from excess calcium in the blood and that isn't safe 😊

Hi there, this is probably a silly question. I was wondering, I have a BMW 330e PHEV, it does exactly my commute to and from work on electric power alone. I plug it in overnight to a 7kw home charger. The 330e can only charge at 3.6kw, which takes about 4 hours. Since it is fully charged before I need it to be- for my drive to work, would it be better for the battery if I set it to charge at 2.3kw for example? Hoping to prevent battery degradation as much as possible. At present it’s new and I arrive home with 1km of electric range left. Really can’t afford much degradation before I start using fuel! Thank you so much in advance for your advice.
I wouldn't worry as long as it is ac and at so low charging speeds... (Disclaimer: I don't own an EV 😃 yet...)

It's high, because Bjorn always adds VAT to his driving speed...and the VAT is very high in Norway....

This doesn't surprise me. With my tesla model 3 I manage to "recover" 3 kWh by doing this. Battery chemistry is complex and unpredictable...
how exactly do you do this? starting from how many % SoC with how many kw charging to which SoC (100%?)? Thanks!
@@davidstud3952 like Bjorn did, charge at less than 10% to 100% with AC. I charged at 11kW
Charge to 100% and leave it for half an hour, discharge it to around 1-2%. Leave it for 30 min, then slow charge it up to 100%. Repeat a few times. Then your BMS will have more accurate calculated capacity. In MEB cars for what I know, the capacity calculation is pessimistic to prevent getting stranded with a dead battery.
The procedure is wrong! The key is that the car needs time (>12h) for relaxation (=HV off!) at a very low SoC, then charge it up (charging rate doesn't matter) and let it again stand still (=HV off!) for at least 12h at high SoC for relaxation. Then the BMS can recalculate the battery capacity step by step.

@Aximo don’t get scared of a brand when you see just one car with a faulty battery module. We’ve seen Hyundai, Kia, Nissan and even Tesla with faulty battery modules. So far most of them get replaced under warranty.
@@aXimo What do sales numbers have to do with repairability? Most people just buy an IPhone or Galaxy S series instead of a Fairphone, same with cars.
