+wowgek7 You're right about Craig being an insult to the Bond legend, but don't give up on 007. He will return to form eventually. The key to understanding the travesty of the Craig years is Timothy Dalton. In the 80s, Eon Productions' development of the Bond character through their decision to cast Dalton in the role came closer than any other incarnation of Bond to reaching apotheosis-- the true Bond of Ian Fleming's novels. Like the literary Bond, Dalton's Bond was something of a Byronic hero: dark, sullen, moody, deeply affected by women but not sexually promiscuous, and with all the Byronic physical characteristics, e.g., dark hair, light complexion, a cruel mouth. Unfortunately,, Eon Productions had a contract dispute with MGM, and the Dalton years were cut short. In addition to the Living Daylights and License to Kill, he would've starred in Bond films approximately in 1991 and 1993. The Craig Bond is an attempt to revive the Dalton Bond and redeem a lost opportunity. Craig's Bond possesses many of the intangibles of Dalton's Bond, especially his sensitivity and moodiness. Of course he looks nothing like Dalton, or the Bond composite of legend, which doesn't sit well with many Bond fans, myself included. But where the Craig era really disappoints is in its proclivity to melodrama and sentimentality: the films come off as soap operas with lots of violence thrown in. Spectre is a case in point: observe the emotionally fraught "origins" motif the movie was premised on; it was almost as if it were cribbing from Days of our Lives or (worse yet) Harry Potter.
+James Haynes I havent even watched those after the firts craig one and a few thrailers of his second I decided not to watch them anymore like I said they ruined it so much for me that I even liked the movies with the other bonds before him less. and if the rumors are thrue they want a black bond next no I have nothing against black people dont get me wrong but bond Isnt e black person. for me I doubt I ever like bond movies again that they make. its not bond anymore its a 13 in a dozen action movie.
+wowgek7 Eon had an agreement in place with Idris Elba to play Bond-- but it fell through. He would've at a minimum been interesting in the role, and such a casting choice would perhaps have absolved Eon Productions of its sorry indulgence in cheap racism vis a vis Live and Let Die.

+James Haynes wel doesnt realy matter for me anymore bond is dead sadly
This is one of my favourite Bond Songs..it has the style, the move and the glamour factor... she have the size in this song of one of the greatest of all time , Shirley Bassey...
My goodness, she's beautiful!
She is. Are you a Brasil '66 fan? That was some of her best work ever.
Fancy her
Really great soundtrack Lani remembering Place Des Arts wonderful experience with Herb Alpert ❤❤❤ A&M
Very lovely lady with a beautiful voice of all times , Lani Hall was discovered by Sergio Mendes in her native city of Chicago , Sergio invited to her join in his new group They known as Brasil 66, she flew to Los Angeles , and became a lead vocalist and she already accepted his offer, Sergio mendes and Brasil 66 was very popular in the middle of the 60s he recorded more than thirty five albums , one of my favorite band in the 60 s until now I'm still fan of the Brasil 66 , I've bought some CD as my collection
Sergio discovered Lani .... in a bar down the street in CHicago.
PRECIOSA VOZ❤❤❤
Stunningly beautiful ☺
***** Great performer too.
+Philip Brocklehurst she was great with Sergio Mendes too.
***** Great composer he is too.
+Luke Donnelly This song and way of how she is singing this song is probably a bit inspired by Corrine Hermes' song Si la vie est cadeau from Luxembourg
@@albogyu1 Cool
Superbe voix et magnifique chanson.
With all due respect to the late, great Phyllis Hyman who recorded this theme first for the film (which was not used), I think the right decision was made to go with Ms. Hall's version. It's so silky smooth and haunting. Ms. Hall and her amazing husband Herb Alpert (he's playing trumpet in the extended version) really conjured an otherworldly ambiance with this delicious rendition.
Thanks for that Insight ❤
@@MrJameseoyou're very welcome!
Another hit,very cool!
Wonderful....been a fan of hers forever!
Good job Mrs Herb Alpert.

Her voice is so gorgeous!
THANK YOU SEAN CONNERY FOR ONE MORE MISSION AS BOND YOU STILL DELIVERED IN THIS FILM
RIP Sean Connery, the one and only true James Bond.
I disagree.
He returned to the UK,
only when he had to.
He sounded the same ,
in other films
He returned in a remake of,
Thunderball, which was too much underwater,
In his late 50's, called "Never Say Never Again".
The title sounds like "Tautology",
and sounds "Contradictory".
@@chelsea7802 Awful reasoning
@@q.h.s5051
How?.
The Film Title.
Never Say Never Again,
is illogical.
If Never Say Never Again.
Why say it?.
I disagree about Sean Connery.
He featured in, the above film..
In opposition, to Octopussy.
He was too old, nearly bald.
When men of his age,
has sex, with a woman,
in her twenties.
It's tasteless.
Wrong......
That's right I love that guy.❤❤😂😂😢😢
Lani always had beautiful voice. Loved her with Brasil 66 as well
What a beautiful voice. Soothing perfection with sexy, feminine passion.
This was it baby 💌🎵🎶🌹 your messages started coming in straightforward and clearly 🇺🇸🎵🎶💙💛🙏💚🔜

Do you remember my love 💙💛🌹me looking at you deeply like there's no tomorrow 👀👀💎💎🌹
Lani Hall must be the 1st woman to perform a soft rock song in a tuxedo for the theme song of the James Bond movie of the same name to star Sean Connery for the 7th & final time.
I wonder if Sean Connery ever met Lani Hall before or after he agreed to portray the role of James Bond for the 7th & last time?
Actually he reprised the role one last time to voice Bond in the From Russia With LOve video game.
Yes he did. I've seen a photo of them together.
There was supposed to be a movie called "Wahead 2000", that is basically thunderball but 90ties with connery being the bad guy and Dalton playing Bond.
Sadly it wasn´t done.
You'd think, right? I still can't believe she was the nineteenth.
Great video! I enjoyed the video more than I did the movie.
I don't care what anyone says-the last great orinal Bond movie of all time 👍Geniune Class
Gladys Night's License to Kill and that one from The Pretenders in The Living Daylights are up there too. The Dalton era was most the underrated.
Wow such an amazing song!
I don't care what anyone else says, I like this song.
Eri bravissima è BELLISSIMA UNA STELLA JAMES ERA IL MIGLIORE DI TUTTI I BOND 007 X LUI R.I.P SEI IL MIGLIORE
Possibly one of the great all time Bond themes.
really .. Ever heard of GOldfinger ? Live and let die ? From russia with love ... and of course the James BOnd Dr No theme !
I agree
The songs you mentioned are bombastic mediocrity.
Lani has enough emotion in her voice to convey the spirit of the song. Mccartney was always a bad singer.
Each to his own?🤷
the spy who loved me
octopussy
the living daylight
goldeneye
tomorrow never dies
casino royale
skyfall
and of course at her majesty's secret service
amazing themes
Ms. Hall has a terrific voice and style here
I'd like to hear a modern version of this.
Good song 👌
I love the songs of the 80's

Outstanding, and an outstanding Bond Movie.
I’ll never understand why everyone hated this movie. I enjoyed Thunderball, but I love Largo in Never Say Never!
I can.
"Thunderball", was too much underwater.
I think it's because it's so similar to Thunderball. When the story broke that Connery was going to play Bond again we were hoping for a great storyline. Basically Thunderball with a few changes
Klaus Maria Brandauer did an exceptionally good job as Largo. He played the role to the hilt!
Great Bond song!
