Great wisdom as always, Greg. You have a loyal following that loves your content. You deserve a break; I get what you're saying about feeling pressured to make content, and I'm only small fries and feel like I need to get out as much as I can. Okay... As always, this is a lot of great stuff to take in. I wouldn't worry about the rambling; you have a knack for spewing lots of wisdom when you ramble 😅. I love it. The little story of the server talking about the dirty beard had my sides hurting from laughing so hard. This was such a great video. Thank you so much, as always, love your stuff.

Your beard is amazing, but for me it became too much work after about 8 months, and I just got tired of it. If it had looked as stellar as yours, it would have been worth the added effort. Glad that you are sticking with it! I check in here for the "vicarious experience" LOL.

I finally decided to just let my beard grow (and shave my head) during COVID, and I kind of liked it. The head looked better than I thought, and I actually almost have a beard! I even continued the look post COVID, out in the wild, and people seem to like it too. My beard doesn't grow very long, though... it continuously grows for about 6 months, and then just sits there, haha.

Am over a year this time and letting it grow. I get the feeling a lot to trim it back until someone says great beard. Started making my own beard products after trying many different companies just so I can adjust the carriers to suit me. At the time, am starting to make my own company and the long beard with me using my own products is like a walking billboard. My wife just goes along with my beard getting longer, at 8 inches now, and is getting more responsive at it gets to different stages

End goal will be answered when im looking back at myself saying god damn that is one mighty fine majestic beard.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts greg , it truly is a phsycological journey into the unkown. Btw the best way to check the beard for me is my phone screen glass reflection , no prisoners taken there .

    I'm more a clean shaven or Goatee-Mustache guy !
but in march 2020 I decided to grow my beard long !
the longest I could go was exactly 120 days from my clean shaved face and I'm telling everyone in here that this is one of the hardest journeys that a man can step into !
I saw guys like George bruno that grew their beard for almost 24 months , I'm gonna give these men lots of credits !

Greg, you are 100% correct with everything you said! Particularly about women and their comments and thinking too much when growing out your beard. We are very self conscious and need to be able to just allow ourselves time to achieve our potential. At the end of the day we are growing beards for us not anyone else.

Great video. I've had a beard for over 4 years and I've been through everything that you describe. Luckily I never gave in to completely cutting it off but I've come close. Done some trimming mistakes but with patience it does grow back and helped me realize how much I like it. My wife is also a fan of my beard and has supported me which helps a lot! Keep up the great content.

Great advice Greg. It took me a while to learn to wait with those scissors, to give misbehaving hairs a chance to grow before trimming. Its like a different beard sometimes 2 to 4 weeks later. Growth can often be solution! I’ve been growing out my mustache this year and I cant count how many times I’ve wanted to give up, like I’ve done before, but sure enough the longer it gets, the easier its been, just like my beard. Everyone’s beard is unique, its a journey to try and figure your beard out at each stage.

  • @stephenshelton4267
    @stephenshelton4267 4 месяца назад

I think you should keep growing because you're getting to a point now where you can hold it in a hair band or even tie a knot on it. It gives it a different look, and a knot will do the same while shortening it a couple inches, and there are pratical reasons to do that too like when you sleep or when you are using a whirling power tool (mine recently got sucked into a leaf blower)
You're so close to being long enough to do completely different things with it so keep growing!

I love the fact my wife supports my beard and so supportive. I’m my biggest critic and always trying to have the best beard at every moment. I have a problem with keeping a stiff neck after grooming and allowing it to fully to keep it looking good to my expectations. My wife is always telling me to stop lol. I work with food and have to wear a beard net. I have found a hair net with my same color, but when I take it off for the day it’s a struggle to fix it for rest of the day. Struggle is real. Definitely not cutting my beard . I’m so proud of it and my beard goal is not there yet. My mom on the other hand hates it but tolerates it. 👍

There was a local restaurant where one of the guys had one of the best beards I had ever seen in the real world, and he wore it in a beard net of the same color. It pushed the beard up and bushed it out perfectly uniform. He said he never used beard oils or anytjing like that either. I always hoped to see what it would lool like out of the net but I never saw him before he moved.

Great video, Greg! Beard is looking in charge! 💯 I’ve had many small trims and am currently at 8” (roughly) when straightened, 4-5” without heat. I also have not touched my neckline in a year and am so glad I did. When I was shaving my neckline, I would occasionally bump the beard and knock off a few much needed hairs. Super thick nowadays! I do notice that the bulk of the beard is underneath and have to work it outward when styling, or else I can feel the bulk where my neck bends. I try not to crush it downward to keep it at its maximum fluff underneath. Straightening is the only way to truly combat that but I prefer it natural most days. I’ve been learning to perfect the puff with each day. I go for max volume when rocking a curly beard.

Also, I hope you ran that server to hell and back with no tip. I mean she gets an hourly wage, right? And I’m sure she can make up for it at the next table if she makes better comments.

One more thing, since I’m commenting as the video plays. I watch the weather closely to plan my heat routine days. Most days in Ohio call for a natural look. 😂 And yes, mirrors, reflection and lighting mean everything. Sometimes I wonder if the bad images are what others see and maybe I should take them back home and prove to them in my mirror that it looks great. 😂😂😂
