In my opinion, this instrumental, along with Ritchie's 'Big Baby Blues', Fast Freight', and 'Malaguena' kicked off the instrumental surf era. Dick Dale, however, kept up the momentum which led to the 1963 - 1964 peak.
I have to agree with rancherodave, WAYYY AHEAD OF HIS TIME . . . and taken far too soon, only 17. WTH? Love his Fast Freight instrumental, too, and Bluebirds Over the Mountain . . . to die for vintage vibe.
