Maggot Brain wasn’t on the Hardcore Jollies album. The original version was on the album titled Maggot Brain, and then again on an ep that was a part of the One Nation Under A Groove album which was live and played by Micheal Hampton.
Tyrone lampkin slips up here and not but Eddie hazel being professional just plays through like ok I'm.not gonna let this bother me Billy in the other hand was pissed throughout the gig that's why he threw his bass down at the end of free your mind Billy says the group didn't rehearse or anything
Rip.tawl.ross he passed last month and he originally recorded the rhytym on the studio version of maggit brain Harold beane played the rhytym here and he passed a few years ago Rip fuzzy, calvin, eddie, tyrone lampkin, bernie worrell, and ray davis and tiki.fulwood
I've listened to the Live At Meadowbrook album on acid multiple times, and sometimes it got uncomfortable because I can hear and feel the tension from having a new drummer and rhythm guitarist without much rehearsal, after Tawl Ross just had his bad speed/acid trip and Tiki Fullwood left. There's points in this recording where you can hear frustration. It's a shame that there's no recordings of this quality from the original lineup. Still, this is a very special recording and I still cherish it. One of the only live recordings of Eddie playing Maggot Brain from this era.
Wow. This is powerful. The dude was 17 when he did the guitar solo. Whatever you want to call this music, it is very good.
The number of places ive been listening to this song without even leaving my room..
Rip Tyrone lampkin, Bernie worrrell, Harold beanie, Eddie hazel, Calvin Simon, and ray davis
I love how you can hear it all. The passion and the emotion, and yes, even the fuckups. It's raw, it's real.
That had to be one magical night in 1971! ❤
Best version, hands down!!!
Best version of this song, no doubt

This is amazing how to keep intensity along the way in to the ending in a such slow paced and simple song.
Just scored the 2LP vinyl edition of this released last year...it's an incredible live performance
Yes it is, aint it!!!!!
@@dennisscott1610this song was the main reason this was released
Eddie killed it and Bernie did his gothic thing
