This keyboard has a lot of the same sounds as the motif. Of course the motif has more sounds and better polyphonics. Personally I do not regret buying the mm8 88 key. I got the last one for $599 at my sam ash as they were discontinuing the mm8, so I feel blessed.
I recently bought one of these used from a friend to add to live playing ...decent sounds action is not so good on these but for basic live playing sufficient enough
The action is fine of me mm8 88 key. The only thing I hate is it is only 32 note polyphonics other than that I love it. It only suxks when playing in dual mode do to the polyphonics, but I got mine for only $599 on sale. It was actual cheaper than the basic yamaha keyboard with 5 to 6 basic sounds. The yamaha motif is way more expensive and harder to use. The yamaha mm8 is very user friendly.
@Proficiency Music I love the Korg M50. It's very versatile and super fun.. I bought one for $100 There's a MM8 on OfferUp for $100 I'm thinking about buying it also
@@Avryg00 The hammer action is descent the 88 key is weighted. I have the mm8 88 key. For the price I paid it out performs all of the key boards in the $600 range. It can almost hold up with a $1500 keyboard except for the 32 note polyphonics.
@@Avryg00 I actually like the hammer action on the mm8. Maybe I am just use to it now. I have used it in live shows an it held up pretty good. Just remember that dual mode uses twice the polyphonics per note, so once you play 16 notes at the same time the keyboard will start canceling other notes if they are being sustained, so it is best to play piano without dual mode. If ypu are just jamming with out a lot of sustain pedal dual mode works fine.
I have been using it for gospel music and I love it.

Not sure why Yamaha classified this board as a synth to me it digital piano

Beautiful playing
Does this one have touch sensitive keys? And is it better than Casio WK 210? I'm thinking about buying one of them used.
yes, the keys are velocity sentitive
@@ProficiencyMusic Oh, God. Velocity. Those type of keys scare me.
Do you prefer this Yamaha mm8 or the Korg M50 ?
Korg M50 is much better to me.

Dyno piano??
Nice vídeo,mm6 Owner .
Sounds from the 90's !
Do you need a laptop to use the sync effect ? Is there any other to use a synthesizer effect without any laptop
all the effects and sounds are built into the keyboard
Este piano en sus generos de batería o acompañante tiene salsa merengue cumbia?
No
As it's a "Sound Demo" video, 15sec/sound would be enough.
Does this have a Wurlitzer sort of sound?
yes it does
What is the action like, are the synths decent
it's hammer action but it doesn't feel like a real piano. i still think it's great for live play and playing piano, rhodes or organ sounds.
@@ProficiencyMusic Is it a lighter action?
