Have you thought about having a camera with the pigs so you could check them at night from in the house? It would be an easyway to watch them while you're waiting for the piglets to be born.
Some cautionary advise, newborn pigs and lambs, etc. have an uncanny ability to squeeze into tight spaces and drown themselves in water troughs, etc. I would put a couple of boards over the wire at the bottom of the pens. Raise water troughs so babies can crawl in. They will also climb on mom's back and fall into things. Hope this helps.
I totally agree, I said the exact same the other night, I gave up main stream Tv a few years back it changed my life. This family are creating content for free, so they can live a life that they want. It basically costs us nothing. In my opinion we should all be watching the ads and clicking the thumbs up every night so they can get a little back of youtube
With the fencing you bought, you will have piglets going between the pens. Just a thought. Perhaps you want to install a second layer of fencing with chicken wire fencing.
Piglets need a solid barrier at least 12 inches high. They can get through the wire at newborn. Also you need a barrier in each pen 10:32 that the piglets can go under to get away from the mom. Sows are notorious for laying on their babies and killing them. That’s where you should have the heat lamp shining to attract them
Pigs are notorious for escaping. My husband really put his foot down when I wanted to get pigs😢. When he was growing up his family had three pigs, they named them, Houdini, Houdidit, and Howdidhe.😂😂😂. I don't remember naming our pigs
I don’t ever comment but I have watched almost every video even before you moved. I love the every day video because you keep them short and interesting.
Oh boy, piggies talk about cuteness overload! I think it is wise to be over cautious, about being ready, also for safety sake! Mama’s can be over protective! Baby pigs will squeal loudly when cuddled! Blessed and safe days!
So exciting! You've likely been advised a few times-lower that shelf to about a foot off the floor. It's a spot for the piglets to tuck under when mom lays down. She won't always feel her piggies as she beds down.
You could make the new pen beside the door ,as you said ,but make their new door open outward enough to fill the gap where your walkway will go so the piggies can't get into the rest of your building when your letting them out and the straw won't block the doorway.
make an area where the piglets can get under and not the mom so she doesn't roll on them. I think it is called a creeper. My son and his family raise pigs and they learned the hard way
Ahh, I don't know which is cuter...baby goats or baby pigs? I guess I'll take both! This is going to be so fun for me to watch as your homestead grows this year!! (Grows in all the ways!) 💚💚☮️✨
The piglets will definitely get through the fencing you have. Please consider a chicken wire down by the floor as mentioned by another viewer. 👍🏻 good luck.
Oh my goodness! Baby Piggies!! 🐖🐖 I can’t wait!! Yes, always best to be prepared. My happy place every day is watching you all. And I agree with the other who said putting up floor vinyl up a little ways on walls a little to help make the area easier to clean. You guys just rock!! Always working together and making things look good.
Ahh man…me not wanting to work in my garage because it’s 39 degrees today while y’all are happy because you’re up to single digits and not in the negatives 😂 makes me rethink my excuse. I’m sure you’ve thought of this but when you said you were glad they could see each other consider having a way to block that as well just in case one of them becomes aggressive after having her piglets. Our most gentle pig got aggressive with everyone, including our little dog she was raised with. It didn’t last long but she had to be quarantined from all others. 💝
Good evening guys awww piglets .I know from experience you guys doing the right thing we raised pigs growing up we always kept the mama separated with her babies. From the rest .loves ❤
You really need to protect that OSB or it will swell from the dirt and moisture! You will have to replace it if you don’t protect it! Just an FYI! Love your channel💓
We had a few sheep one year and didn't have a clue that one of the sheep was expecting. My kids got a ride home from school and the driver commented about the baby lamb in the pasture...oh what a surprise ❤
Good luck🎉🎉 fun times ahead. The only thing you need now are heat lamps to keep them babies nice and warm. Exciting ❤❤ If you r concerned with water bowls with the piglet’s…some homesteads use water nipples but not sure if you are into that 😅
So exciting and nerve wracking at the same time lol. You'll have alot of reading to do I'm sure your RUclips fam will have a ton of great advice. I really like the piggy cam idea!!! You got this, good luck!!!!
piggies - oh the fun - and the noise!!! I'd love it if you guys could get mics. it's so hard to hear you sometimes - I keep turning up an down volume - but I"m sure it's on the list... LOL such a long list you all have - you make me tired. If i had 1/10 th of your energy... good luck!!!🐷🐖🐽
I love how you think ahead. Staying in a what if mode, keeps you on your toes and planning for emergencies. Good luck with the pens, so far so good. I love how everyone pitches in to help anytime. Until next time much love and many prayers. 💖💖
Could you put panels on the outside walls to keep them clean from junk getting stuck in between the joists? 🐖🐖🐖🐖 Where will the pig’s permanent structure be?
I would suggest Sam and flint from Junos acreage Sam had Kunis just born Maybe you can reach out to her iam sure she would be more willing to help with piggy babies
Oh boy … we are on baby watch 😳😱. I agree that a camera to watch from inside is the best way to go - if you can 🙏 So much to do , so little time ! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏😘❤️😘
Have you thought about having a camera with the pigs so you could check them at night from in the house? It would be an easyway to watch them while you're waiting for the piglets to be born.
I have been thinking this the whole time I've been watching.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Weed em & reap put cameras in her goat area and it was so fun waiting and watching the cameras for when the goats kidded. It got addictive. 😂
@@christinelaver942 Elysia wouldn't get any sleep😂🤣😂
Good luck to all of you, can't wait to see tomorrow's video ❤

The bottom sqaures are smaller then the top you see :) Also we arent done building :)
Please everyone hit the like button, it helps this family out so much
I would put fiberglass loose lay vinyl on the walls. It will keep the pig stuff off of the walls

Is there anything you two can't do? You are both so amazing! Absolutely love your channel!
So exciting! You've likely been advised a few times-lower that shelf to about a foot off the floor. It's a spot for the piglets to tuck under when mom lays down. She won't always feel her piggies as she beds down.
You always prep so well for the critters. If it’s not tonight you will be prepared.
you could do a youtube live in the pig pens, with the camera on the pigs loads of people tune into that sort of thing
Piglets!!! I can’t wait I love piglets they are so cute 🥰 ❤🇬🇧
Such wonderful love filled videos ! Oh Englishes, your videos are also informative, humorous, and looked forward to! Thank you!
Your boys have gotten so big and mature.
They will also start making a bed for the birth. Also u need to remove him from excess to the litter in my day the boar might eat the piglets

yes I plan to do that :)
You should consider lining the inside wall with wood to protect the outer wall
Ahh, I don't know which is cuter...baby goats or baby pigs? I guess I'll take both! This is going to be so fun for me to watch as your homestead grows this year!! (Grows in all the ways!) 💚💚☮️✨
Chase is so mature looking now wow

Piglets climb in water bowls and could drown. Suggestion ...get a water bowl raised off the floor and braced in the corner.
I get tired just watching you! Keep up the good work, and prayers for piglets.
THIS IS SO EXCITING!!!
I don't know how you keep up with everything!!!
So exciting 🎉🎉🎉 baby piggies are the cutest! Congratulations and good luck y'all 🥰
I would start after the door then build. It would be much easier for you and them.
Do you plan on sealing the wood? Won’t it soak up liquids and get yucky? Can’t wait to see baby piggies! ❤
