That’s the one advantage of driving a split truck, if you do see contamination sticking out of the recycling, at least you can dump it on the trash side. I have entire neighborhoods like you mentioned that suck at recycling. It’s a really shame because recycling is so easy to do.
I do that pretty often. I don't usually leave that in when i cut video. There are people who don't understand why it's done. Recycling is easy, but at this point it is a joke.
@@NashobaTrashTrucks I’ve had a pair of filmers film my truck and one of them wanted to film me in a housing project I do on Fridays. I told him he can’t because the majority go on the trash side because literally they are full of trash. But like you said, people not in the business would never understand.
I'd probably tell them no as well. Housing projects are usually private property or shitty places to film. My main route is a Municipal Contract so I don't really care if people film me on that.
@@NashobaTrashTrucks One of them came out last summer to film in the projects and he finally decided after like 10 min he better leave because people were coming out and watching him. People are paranoid in those projects. Luckily it’s the only one I do on my route, the rest is subscription customers.
A large bag full of clothes at 52:22 😍 I wish it would have stayed on the side with a hole and that it would have opened to see what was inside but luck is rarely on my side for this 🤣
@@robertwalton1054agreed. I find things like that all the time. In most cases, the clothes are in excellent condition, sometimes even brand new. It’s amazing what people will ignorantly chuck in a trash can.
State of Massachusetts actually has a new law where you're not supposed to put textiles in your trash/recycle.. but no one is going to pay attention to it.
Automizers are my favorite truck. This one seems cool, but the split panel in the hopper isn't that great as it's letting things slide and get contaminated in different parts of the truck.
this split would be fine if it had dual crushers. it would take care of the issue of shit not getting packed in and would alleviate some of the contamination. contamination is part of the game and it's expected
A lot is spilling over from the recycling to the trash. Shame. Also... couldnt they think of a standard bin color? This is insane. How does the driver know which bin is what??
Awe, your flipper has a necklace!! 😅

@@DolphinTrashPrincess Only had that happen to me once but yes I dumped it on the recycling side.
Man what a mess 😳
Thanks for sharing
I love this footage, however I’m disappointed how many people don’t return those bottles and cans with the bottle deposit here in Massachusetts!
I agree. But i'm guilty of this as well.
I use to do it all the time. I haven’t done it in a few years already
great job nice video

I wish I could've saved those clothes because they're probably were still good

I hate when that happens.

Fr, this is why split bodies aren't the best truck for the job and why we should just stick to using singular trucks.
split body works just fine if company and municipalities actually enforce the rules. No system is pure not even single body routes
