This made my morning seeing this. I miss this show so much. Despite it being low budget to no budget, This show was great! America's got talent has nothing on this original talent.
Omg!! I thought I would never see this again. This transports me back to 1977 when I was a 7 year old watching this on UHF channel 68 with my three older brothers. What a better and much simpler time. I had a couple of pictures that I drew that ended up on the show and then around 1980 we started seeing him and the cast perform at Club Bene in South Amboy, NJ and those shows were even better because they were able to do much dirtier material. Wow this really made my day 😂
Mugsy was my favorite… Back in 1983 or somewhere around there, my father told me I didn’t have to go to school that day. He took me to see the uncle Floyd show …. They taped a bunch of shows once a month and uncle Floyd actually put me on the show - a segment called ridiculous but real…. I wish I could find that old broadcast. My dad was my hero - giving me a pass from attending 3rd grade Catholic School for a day to watch uncle Floyd for an entire day
Oh my god, this is a bit of Bones Boy, which I'm so happy to see, and a bit of Skip.....but what a tour de force from Floyd at the piano, singing yet another goldie, slipping into Jolson and Whispering Jack Smith impressions, and quoting from "Rhapsody In Blue". Beautiful.
Used to see him in PBS back in 84 or so, going to my grandmother's house to watch him on that old 13 inch TV they had. Think Dark Shadows came on after that. God, me and my dad watched him all the time.
I was at Syracuse University in 1986 with buddies visiting my Sister and her roommates and we were loaded in a club. I'm wearing an Uncle Floyd button on my suit jacket and some hot chick comes up telling me her Dad loved Uncle Floyd. I told her I was Looney Skip Rooney and she asked for my autograph for her Dad. She asked why was I in Syracuse and I said I was scouting young talent and she got all excited. Well bullshit and alcohol sometimes leads to a fun ending! Thank You Uncle Floyd and Art Skip Rooney. Good memories!
Unfortunately, the show was shot on one inch video tape and the station had to re-use them due to budgetary constraints. That's a big reason why there are so few.
I don't know why there aren't more episodes available, according to Uncle Floyd's Wikipedia page the show went into syndication in 1982 and was seen on WNBC 4 in New York, WTAF 29 in Philadelphia. WPWR 60 in Chicago and WSBK 38 in Boston. You would think that there must be multiple copies floating around from people taping them off of one of these stations or when Uncle Floyd was on PBS and CTN. I vaguely remember discovering Uncle Floyd in 1974 on a snowy UHF station when I was 10 years old. I didn't start watching him until around 1980 when he was on WWHT before WHT The Movie Network came on at night. But I remember Uncle Floyd used to sing the Wild West City theme song in their commercials before I started watching him. I have The Best Of The Uncle Floyd Show on DVD.
Man I loved seeing this,I had guy in school had uncle Floyd fan club, saw his live act few times,Loved how he gave Punk rock a pedestal to stand on,tons great music was on his show, growing up in NJ we'd get baked n watch this show .....classic Americana .****You can see this wasn't made my liberals or millennial types,or we have nothing good to watch...n remember USA was a better place once ....
You could bring the episode where Cyndi Lauper appears on the show, she even sings "He's So Unusuall". I really like that video and it still doesn't have it here on RUclips. And I don't know where to see it so I think it would be a great idea for you to bring that video to the channel.
I like to tell you remember the show very well for that Thief Steiner on their Uncle Floyd show this is a good show a member was on UHF that time on UHD TV on Magnavox and a RCA and Philip Morris and ammo TV have a good memory 55 retire are you still watch all the shows I retired 55
I remember this show as an early teen...used to come on my local independant cable station.Show was outrageous(as bad as it was)We had some pretty great stuff in New Jersey and New York.Todays comedy is just not the same...much like the music...so greatful that i grew up in the 70s and 80s...Things were cool.Even movies.
Okay, but it was syndicated to NBC, and it ran late at night after Saturday Night Live, in 1981, into 82, and I started watching it, in the winter of 81-82.
I watched it as a kid growing up in the 80's, every day on ch 50 wnjn right after Speed Racer and Hercules cartoons and i think Dark Shadows used to come right after. Despite it being super low budget i loved it so much. Floyd and the gang felt like everyone's wacky family and the skits were crazy enough to appeal to both kids and adults. My fave was when he went up to the bulletin board to show all the drawings the kids (and a few adults!) had sent him. He would take a sharpie out of his pocket and 'correct' some of the more smart alecky drawings which was hilarious!!! Oogie to start the show was always a fave. There were recurring character skits like The Dull Family and A Day in the Life of a Food and Don Goomba. I miss tv like this. So many happy memories of watching Uncle Floyd together with my big brother and my friends from school which would come over just to watch it together and hang out for a while after school. 😃❤️👍
UHF 68, right after "Speed Racer" and a Slim Whitman commercial. Aaaaaah... those were the days. Anyone remember the precursor to cable/pay TV "Wometco Home Theater" (aka WWHT) that followed as a scrambled signal? Sometimes, you'd catch squiggly boobies if you looked closely ; ).
@Cary Groneveldt Yup, the song was from Brazil. Sinatra did a version of it. Floyd has an encyclopedic knowledge of popular music of all kinds. He is said to have the largest collection of old Italian records in the world. Mr. Vivino is not just a funny guy that can play the piano, but something on the verge of being an unrecognized creative genius.

Nobody does shows like these anymore. I lived in a golden age!
Amen to that. This was the best
I remember the segment “Voice of the Viewers”. I sent pretty good pictures of video game characters to this show.
We sure did.
You could put a thousand hours of Floyd at the piano and I would watch all of it.
This made my morning seeing this. I miss this show so much. Despite it being low budget to no budget, This show was great! America's got talent has nothing on this original talent.
The low budget made the show special.
What a great piano player uncle floyd is. He is truly underrated great talented artist.

God I miss the days of coming home from work and watching The Uncle Floyd Show’.
A moment I thought lost in time. Thanks for putting these vids up.
This brings back so much memories. I always watched on channel 68 at 6 pm. Thank you
the whole show was made by the cast members laughing and commenting.....Skip was the best at it
He was a tremendous entertainer. One of my favorite shows as a kid. Get well soon, Unc

What a great talent, Floyd was so underrated. He was ahead of his time. I watched him in my college days in Jersey.
Considering his true soul time was the 1930's he was way ahead of that !
The last breath of vaudeville. Floyd was really authentic. I always wish I could play piano like that.
Beautiful.
… and a smidge of 😢‘Kingfish.’
Used to see him in PBS back in 84 or so, going to my grandmother's house to watch him on that old 13 inch TV they had. Think Dark Shadows came on after that. God, me and my dad watched him all the time.
Watched this as a kid in Philadelphia on NJN in the 80s. just today I recalled the name " correctly".
Old Floyd footage from the classic era is very rare! Great to see this.
Uncle Floyd! What an amazing talent.
I used to watch this all the time as a teen in South Jersey.
Man, do I miss this show and those times. 🥃
Yes...We have lived in the most interesting and exciting times, for sure! Miss that show and those people!
I REMEMBER WATCHING THIS AS A KID 6PM CHANNEL 68 OOGIE and LOONEY SKIP ROONEY THIS SHOW WAS INSANE
The hardest working man in show biz!!!!!! Love ya Uncle Floyd!!!!!

Good memories!
Looney Skip Roonie’s laugh was the most hilarious!!

I love how he mixed the song with rhapsody in blue, genius!
People ask me what my childhood was like. Having grown up watching Uncle Floyd, my answer is “I have no idea.”
Unfortunately, the show was shot on one inch video tape and the station had to re-use them due to budgetary constraints. That's a big reason why there are so few.

Snnaaaaap it
How about a hard roll
watched everyday.
His illest performance. Hell yes!
The charm of that old piano! But, maybe he deserved a Steinway with his talent!
I went to military school in New Jersey. His uncle was one of the football coaches.
We always had a break when is show came on.
Floyd, I miss doing gigs with you. After Covid, I hope we'll resume.
Snap it, pal!
Yeah snap it
Bones Boy rocks, snap it pal!!! Needed some oogie tho
The Uncle Floyd Show, The Gong Show and Mad Magazine made me the man I am today. Yeah... I'm kinda messed up.
You and me both!
We both lead similar lives, with similar personalities, lol😂😂😂
Great shows Uncle Floyd had back then with a lot of comedy and very entertaining. Miss those days.
I always loved Bones Boy’s new acts in town. Here’s one I thought of. Scott Gordon teamed up with Oogie. “Tummy and Dummy”.
fabulous!!!
I wish I could play piano like that.

Watched this a lot on the early 80s, UACC Channel 8 public access North Jersey
I would love to see the song “Sitting in a shoe shine shop” again. Is it on here anywhere?
No messes with Bones Boy!

David Bowie Song ( Slip Away) is a dedication to Uncle Floyd

@@scottconnors8419 And the sheep became producers for dumb shit P.C. programming...just look what they did to Mtv and VH1.
Classic Floyd !
these are cool. I thought they were gone forever
Maybe Clark will appear in one of these . He was very sharp for a cast member :P
What ever happened to the two goofballs from the early years that were vendors from Yankee Stadium?
Great favorites.
Please More Mugsy used to have all the shows would love to see all of those again
Hope he's fully recovered from his July 2023 heart issues 💕Miss you Florio Vivino.
HEY SNAP IT PAL!
Yeah snap it
Hey now
We stream shows from Uncle Floyd's collection every Thursday at 8pm Eastern. $10 virtual admission. Go to unclefloyd.com to register.
I used to watch the show when NBC used to run it late Saturday nights after Saturday Night Live, it always cracked me up.
I dont think NBC ever owned the rights to this show. What you saw was most likely the local affiliate station putting it on their programming.
Okay, but it was syndicated to NBC, and it ran late at night after Saturday Night Live, in 1981, into 82, and I started watching it, in the winter of 81-82.
It was WNBC in New York city that had it on late nights Saturday nights.

It was a funny show and i liked the bits they did.

Anyone remember the musical acts? I remember seeing Cindi Lauper, the Ramones, and Danzig
He is a genius.
Does anyone remember the sketch A Day in the Life of a Food? I don't see it anywhere on RUclips.
Yes, somebody would be eating something and it screamed...
Yeah, it was great. Floyd used a specific intro for it, to the tune of "A day in the Life of a Fool".
Yeah i certainly do...Cant find it anywhere on u tube.So rare and lost.😢

Art "Looney Skip" Rooney and that screaming; or is that yelling.
Snap it pal 😄😊
LOL.
The low budget worked in favor of the show. Some of the best comedy has no budget at all.
If you don't think these skits are funny you have no sense of humor
rob zombie stole all this shit from this show. and nobody cares
