when you talk about the early movement of the barrel I see the similarities of all the elite hitters with the vertical tip of the barrel . It seems this will make it harder to be consistent vs. simply bring knob towards catcher and then begin the turning of barrel into the zone. Why not just keep the bat flatter vs. vertical?
Joe Cilea The flatter the barrel gets, the more the shoulders tend to take over. By holding the barrel up, the bat is in a more leveraged position for the hands to twist the barrel to contact
