- From the company that brought you the invention of the modern Pedal Steel Guitar comes the absolute ultimate LAP STEEL GUITAR! That's right, this is the all-new Duel Lever LS6 Slideking from Jackson Steel Guitar. I've been privileged to work alongside David Jackson on the development of this amazing new instrument. As you will see in this video I use both levers almost constantly as I work through major and minor chords. Please note that my picking hand never leaves the placement over the levers. Thus, those changes are always musically available. This is tuned to an open E chord. Lever 1 (commonly referred to in the Pedal Steel community as A/B pedals) raises the tuning up to an A chord. Thus, a 1 to 4 change. Lever #2 is the "minor" pedal. This takes the open tuning to a minor chord. This example with "Wayfaring Stranger" allows you to experience the minor and major shifts in the music and they way the LS6 Slideking adapts to each mode.

Just one question, is there any song that you can’t play? 😀 For real though all of your songs are good. The steel guitar is one of my favorite instruments. I always wanted to learn how to play but I guess I’ll stick with the acoustic guitar.
If you already play guitar there are even a number of great 6 string pedal steels available built to make an easy transition for guitar players. Jackson makes some and also Fessenden and Hudson.
Daniel McKee I saw another video he posted showing the chords on a steel guitar. It looked a lot easier to play than I thought it would be. I play the guitar and piano by ear, but I have to have sheet music for the saxophone until I memorize each song.
