People overlook that it can take out Kumano, I sideboard in an extra copy against mono red for that very purpose. Shame that Chandra doubles the spell AFTER the modes are selected, shame there isn't yet a modal spell that matters if it gets copied, allowing you to pick other modes, though I suspect it would have to be pretty weak to even get printed.
At 18:50 I think it's still reasonable to hold up make disappear since Chandra would copy it in their turn so they would have to pay 4 to resolve a threat, and there's no real rush to win the game as an uncontested Chandra will take over within a couple turns anyway. Thanks for the consistent high quality content :)
I played against a similar deck to this before. They ended up killing themselves because they played 2 breach the multiverse and 1 of them got copied. And they had that two of that red 5/5 flying dragon that exiled 2 cards at the start of their step. So when they went to draw a card, they didn't have any left in their library, and they fucking Lost the game immediately. It was so shocking, I didn't even realize what had happened until I took a good look at the board. I even screenshoted the game to remember it, beautiful
It would be sweet if there was some insane card that made an opponent sacrifice a creature, enchantment, and a planeswalker that could be doubled with Chandra.
Awesome video, as always! One question: Is it possible that you didn't take into account that Chandra would copy the Make Disappear you had exiled in match 2? You'd have been able to deal with pretty much any spell that way, since paying 4 would have been too much in the cases that mattered. Am I missing something here?
I was definitely grumbling this at the screen at a few points, but it's also totally reasonable to miss an interaction between two cards you cast when one of them *isn't from your deck* so it wasn't exactly assigned as homework. Oh well, it happens.
It bothers me that LVD had the opportunity to take out Scoundrel and Kumano with a single Molten Collapse and didnt. Dont think it mattered in the end though.
Thought while watching this video - Cavern of Souls is the Mono Blue killer - what if you added Field of Ruin to a Mono Blue deck to take away the Cavern enabling you to continue to counter targets?
There’s multiple sources of land destruction in standard right now, some make treasures some let you find basic lands etc. I feel like this deck doesn’t want field of ruin but more wants field of destruction I think it’s called
I don’t know why some people throw in the towel so soon in some of these matches? not to say LVD wouldn’t win because he’s amazing but still, I’d love to see the conclusion of some these matches going all the way
Impressive deck, need to craft me a Chandra at some point. Is the Irencrag necessary though, considering there's a good amount of treasure makers already in the deck?
Nothing in mono red is ban worthy, the deck is fine. LVD winrate against mono red is like 30% just because of the type of deck that he plays (which are mainly mid tier 2 at best). Meta decks like esper legend or any black deck with Sheoldred feasts on mono red.
Greetings. First of all you are using a very risky strategy, because you need to use Breach of multiverse very carefully. If you're not careful, your deck will run out of cards very quickly. That's the first thing. Second, what are you going to do with counter spells? You've had weird matchups, and outright unskilled opponents who don't know how to use them - if your opponents understand your strategy - 1-2 counterspells in time and it will collapse very easily. Especially with dimir decks. Secondly, I would put 1-2 mass destruction spells, as there are decks that get creatures out of the graveyard and mass create tokens. You're not going to destroy them all. Third, you have nothing to replenish health with. In case the game drags on and your opponent has something that replenishes his health - and you don't - you can lose out on that too. Fourth, chandra is very vulnerable to sacrifice and destroy spells - remember - you're not the only one with them in your deck, and in case you scroll the deck a lot and use Breach of multiverse spell like I said - the deck will run out very quickly. I've played 10 games with your deck at least and I'll tell you that the winrate is about 45-50%. That's not good. Please change your deck strategy. Also, please show your games without slicing and editing, so it's clear that you're not setting up matches that are convenient for you. Thank you.
There are a lot of ways to build this type of deck, this build worked well for me. Counterspells are at an all-time low because of Cavern of Souls, you don't run into them as often anymore. Sweepers can be good in certain matchups, but there are no amazing options in Rakdos: Brotherhoods End or Burn Down the House would take out Chandra, and Gix's Command often isn't good enough. Milling 20 cards with a copied Breach is not an issue, just keep an eye on your library size. The deck isn't straightforward to pilot and your sample size was small. The monored matchup is tough as shown in the video, but can be improved by adding Sheoldred. We don't care about the opponent gaining life. We're a control deck that's looking to take over with Chandra and bury them in card advantage. I went 5-1 with the deck and showed every game I played in the video. Here's a screenshot: imgur.com/a/UhERGK
@@LegenVD ohhh gotcha. I thought you meant the deck was greedy, which I guess it kind of is, but I've definitely seen a lot greedier decks from you than this one :D
26:12 was one of the rare cases where Molten Collapse could have taken out two things, the Adversary and Kumano
People overlook that it can take out Kumano, I sideboard in an extra copy against mono red for that very purpose. Taking the blue's counterspells with Decadent Dragon is hilarious.
I feel like an LVD like bot.
Same here
Also a draft visit bot, I use those videos to sleep (Dominaria and Ravnica are the best)
They are getting self-aware!
i literally have a schedule for his videos.. watch them once at night and again the next day at work
Well, it seems like you all provide a lot of value lol
Nothing wrong with that cuz the rest of you is here too now play the game and shut up grind to mythic 😂

Hell yeah! Just play ALL the best cards! Awesome job Luca! :D
It would be sweet if there was some insane card that made an opponent sacrifice a creature, enchantment, and a planeswalker that could be doubled with Chandra.
Could you imagine? Lmao, I bet a card like that would be geared with inbuilt card draw too
And I bet they would lose so much life that casting or copying 3 or 4 of them would just kill them...
this deck looks so fun!
Awesome video, as always!

Yes, good point!
Yep probably a better line
Opponent can still resolve Djinn with a spell pierce though (spell pierce one, pay for the other)
I was definitely grumbling this at the screen at a few points, but it's also totally reasonable to miss an interaction between two cards you cast when one of them *isn't from your deck* so it wasn't exactly assigned as homework. Oh well, it happens.
Chandra, Hope's Beacon is such a cool planeswalker! I loved copying Breach the Mulitverse 😂
Thalia is indeed a "thorn (of Amethyst) in our side"
That's my secret cap, my decks are always in full greed mode.
Can u do another rush to mythic? I loved it when u did the goblin deck to reach mythic.
It bothers me that LVD had the opportunity to take out Scoundrel and Kumano with a single Molten Collapse and didnt. Dont think it mattered in the end though.
I was JUST thinking the same thing! hahah
Thought the same. One of the rare opportunities to make use of both modes! And I thought he was going for that with the scoundrel discarding the land.

Most decks play 4 of Cavern of Souls. If you put 4 colourless lands in your mono blue deck then you're already starting at a disadvantage.
Greed is what i need.
19:10 make disappear becomes copied no?
I don’t know why some people throw in the towel so soon in some of these matches? not to say LVD wouldn’t win because he’s amazing but still, I’d love to see the conclusion of some these matches going all the way

I like it but it's not mandatory for the deck to function.
@@LegenVD thank you for replying, Legend 🙂
19:20 You could copy Make Disappear to make them pay 4, which they would not be able, no?
I wonder if the shuffler just didn't pair him with the ramp deck or whether this deck just folds in that match up.
I’m never going to face every meta deck in 6 games, but I imagine that matchup is pretty tough if Atraxa shows up.
Your thumbnail looks like Osama -.-
i summon Pirate of Greed to play 3 additional Chandras from my deck
Legend needs to stop posting videos for a while... My wildcards simply can't keep up! Another great brew... Thanks!
I guess in the first match you could place a blocker and then kill Thalia with the treasure
Problem then is we don't have something to sacrifice.
No brotherhoods end or burn down the house seems too greedy
They’re not the best pairing alongside Chandra unfortunately. That leaves out most sweepers in our colors. Wasn’t happy with Gix’s Command.
@@LegenVD You try out that new black sweeper at all? Forget the name
@@pauljimerson8218 Don't have enough permanents to enable it.

Man, MonoRed is still way too OP. I hope they fix this in the next set of bans.

If only all players were as noble as you and kept Sheoldred out of their decks. Sadly, it is the defining card of the 2023 Standard meta.
