Recently began studying this in school, you helped me get a 9 on various 'A Christmas Carol' essays (I'm in year 10), and I look forward to learning this play from you from an exam perspective. Thank you Sir!
I'm getting as much of AIC done as I can (please remember I'm balancing this with a PhD) as quickly as possible. Hopefully the characters should be done by the end of the month. I'll do themes and some other bits after that.
hey sir another one... in act 3 right in the beginning, thre is a quote os mr birling saying"i understand a lot of things now i didnt understand before" is this suggesting mr birling changing or is he just talking about his son eric being an alchohalic?
So I usually interpret it as Mr Birling beginning to understand that Eric has a drinking problem, however, I love the idea that it could be about him starting to change or starting to understand the Inspector's point of view! Remember that as long as you can back yourself up (and as long as it isn't completely silly - I don't think Mr Birling is suddenly understanding nuclear power, is he? 😂) with evidence from the text, your ideas are really valuable!
@@DystopiaJunkie thanks sir as i told you i am doing this play on my own and have got loads of questions so here's another one: I don't really quite get Gerald's character i mean that he IS definitely from the younger generation but it is rejecting the idea of younger vs older generation by priestly plus after his confession, does he not even change for a bit? And just is like mr and mrs birling cuz he doesn't totally deny his fault as well. I mean its quiet confusing what that character actually wants cuz in act 3 he tolds everyone another part of the story and make it seem fake. Was there a specific reason for choosing GERALD to do that?? I know my question asking way is a bit confusing but I hope you understand:)
Hey sir another question.... so i am confused that at the end of act 1, dleas gerald confeses completely about his behaviour and involvement or he does in act 2?
Hello! Gerald confesses to Sheila that he knew Eva / Daisy at the very end of Act 1, but all of the details of his involvement with her come out in Act 2. Does that make sense? 😊
