Just a suggestion, you can take or leave it: That trans crossmember x-frame is completely unnecessary structurally, all you need is a single bar or a stamped steel cross bar to bolt to the transmission. A standard universal crossmember (like from CPP, for trucks 50s-70s) will either bolt or weld in and will leave enough room to route the exhaust above it - they run about $100. You can adapt one from the junkyard also, mustangs or pickups are a good source. Deleting the X-frame will take 50-100 lbs off the car and probably improve performance and mpg. Also, you might get better cooling if you build an air dam around the radiator (like on modern cars) to force air through the radiator. Currently the air can get around the radiator pretty easily.
im planning on redoing the exhaust, and ill look at the crossmember and make it out of tubing, it needs to be pretty beefy because its a fiberglass body, the rad is on the list of things to do, it was find driving just sitting in traffic it got alittle hot

I drove from Lansing, MI to meet you guys in Fort Wayne, but I missed you and EricTheCarGuy by about 4 hours because of the rain. Although I did get to see Stefan and his 300SL as he was leaving. If he remembers I am the guy who helped him to snap his windows closed. Also I would of loved to see the GTO fire up on the last day but I had to work or else I would of been there.

Stefan M good luck with that, replica gauges are serious $$$, check out RH motor in the Czech Republic, they have a pile of repo parts for their more accurate 300SL replicas. Oh, and those bling wheels offend me, even steelies with w123 era Merc hubcaps would look way better. Anyway, nice work Stefan.

Yer gonna need a bigger radiator! When you go bigger-and you know you will-then you'll need it! The fans are OK but they're gonna eat up some amperage meaning when the headlights and wipers are running and the stereo is cranked up is when yer gonna wish you had a bigger alternator.
forsure, my temps got up 215 in the heat, but your right i need a bigger rad. and the alternator was just enough, i swapped a gm one it right before we left that i bought at a garage sale for 10 bucks Cad!!

NICE I LOVE IT ..advance\adapter a 2wd v6 toyota t100 n pickups 5 speed in it r151 cheap n good Colorado used toyota boxes g6 just remember the r box sort n long input not a issue just dig a bit n measure to not buy the wrong one .hell do a early 1uzfe with vvti heads locked out n delta custom grind cams lol ; not as pricy as one may think but not cheap neather 575 for the cams but i guess thats not bad fer 4
A plate with fans not ideal. You want it all raised up off the rad and sealed around the edges.

Some of the mods underneath would make a future buyer nervous in my opinion. Love the concept but the execution seems a bit sketchy.
There is definitely room for improvement, the main thing was to get it running and do powertour it was really down to the wire
I made it home without any real problems surprisingly! But now after the shakedown, I know what I can do to improve

Cleatus has a crew and a whole on the road editing and uploading set up. While awesome deboss isn't quite there yet. We gonna have to wait till they get back and edit. and upload

The efi was the best money spent it made the car a lot better to drive
