That’s what Douglas used as his blueprint to beat him. Plus a unmotivated drug and sex crazed Tyson and hyper motivated boxer like buster was a disaster ready to happen. I think buster woulda won had it gone the 12 also but he did get a slow count in round 8 so Tyson could or should have gotten the win. So many what if’s. Regardless it was probably a blessing because he would have eventually lost to another great like foreman or Lennox or holycheat or bowe. At least with Douglas he can say it was a lucky fight and was unprepared and took it lightly. If he would have lost to another great like the above mentioned it would have tarnished his reputation and legacy far worse than buster did. Regardless still a great HW champ. Imagine being 5’10 and go fight 6’ plus monster like 6’3” 6’5” guys. Takes balls for sure and great skill and power and fearlessness even though he admitted being scared in all his fights but never threatened. Fear is a great motivating factor in all aspects of life especially physical sports or competition

@@SpontaneousSubstance. typical Tyson fantard comment. The guy was a very good boxer but had shortcomings in his fighting style he couldn’t overcome. It wasn’t Tyson partying that made him lose it was Manipuri to adjust during a fight. If he couldn’t knock you out quickly with peekaboo or using the same combinations over and over and have succes he didn’t know what to do. All the guys that beat him outthought him

@@cvance37 Its a 50/50 fight, joe frazier beat ali annd almost beat him in the 3 fight, and frazier is the smaller, slower, wakest, less punching power and worst head movement. So but that point of view, tyson would demolish Ali. But james tills gave tyson a tought fight being a worst version of Ali. Looking well, both of them can win each other , the question would be out of 10 times, who would win more times?. I honesly believe that tyson would be beneficial out of this. Tyson can loose via a really close decision but Ali would loose worst if tyson win getting seriosly hurt or a clearer decision .

    • @cvance37
      @cvance37 4 года назад +12

Josh foreman Mike Tyson fades in later rounds. Frazier does not. Tyson hits harder than Frazier, but Ali had an iron chin. Tyson would need to knock out Ali in the first 5 rounds to beat Ali. Considering an old Larry Holmes went 4 rounds vs all that Tyson Power, I think it’s safe to say a prime Ali survives the Tyson onslaught and beats Tyson by decision or late 11th round stoppage. Same for a prime Larry Holmes. Side note Holyfield said Forman punches harder than Mike Tyson. Forman could not knock out Ali.

A trial by fire for Tyson here. I had it 8-2 or 7-3 for Tyson, who dominated, but because Tillis stood his ground a lot of people had it closer. Tillis was a solid gatekeeper type and fought one of his best fights ever. This also showed, among other fights, that just because his opponent survives 5 rounds doesn't mean Tyson folds and packs it in. They fight in 1988 and Tyson knocks him out.

    Tillis fought a great fight.
I like watching these older fights again because I pick up things missed watching live. Tyson was shorter than most if not all fighters he faced. I feel that was a disadvantage that he overcame well. Tyson was susceptible to uppercuts and many of his opponents didn't utilized it enough. However some did use uppercuts and were successful. Tillis didn't throw many in this fight. He traded well and used a good jab and some fast combinations. Mike was usually coming forward and would pummel with great body shots. It's funny to hear commentary about Mike Tyson not knocking out an opponent. Eventually there would be someone to take him the distance and that was good for Tyson.

TEENAGE MIKE TYSON , 7 week Layoff from training because he fell off his Pigeon coop & was in the Hospital, still learning & developing because he wasnt at his full prime yet, i would say this was a great learning experience for TYSON, & it definitely made him a better fighter after,
Especially when he got bigger, stronger & better in late 87 & 88 & destroyed TYRELL BIGGS, PINKLON THOMAS, TONY TUBBS, LARRY HOLMES, CARL WILLIAMS, FRANK BRUNO & MICHAEL SPINKS,
the TYSON who developed & destroyed those men was a whole DIFFERENT ANIMAL than the Younger pre prime less experienced TYSON who fought JAMES TILLIS

      Speed?

Tillis trained under Angelo Dundee and fought similar to Ali.
      And he troubled Tyson.
      Ferocity?
      You mean agressivness, walking foreward.
      Thats their style.

Tillis boxed in the style of the Greatest true efficiency of no more than 40%. Ali would have won.

@D. Bo Tillis beat the crap out of Tyson. Ali was NEVER KNOCKED out. Tyson was knocked out 5 times 3 of them by bums. Ali had a jaw of titanium. Tyson would stand NO Chance against Ali and History PROVED that!

@D. Bo www.nydailynews.com/sports/more-sports/ny-sports-mike-tyson-buster-douglas-anniversary-20190211-story.html. You're on crack. Tyson was in his prime and got Destroyed by Douglas and an over-the-hill, old was Evander Holyfield. The Experts DISAGREE with you.

@D. Bo Sober up first! Tyson was knocked out! James Douglas beat the shit out of him for the rest of his life and Tyson couldn't recover.

The Greatest was never knocked out and always took revenge. Tillis is far from Ali and yet stopped the attacks of peak Tyson. Look for yourself
