Just ordered the Swisstrax Ribtrax and your comparison between the Ribtrax and Ribtrax smooth, along with my Swisstrax rep Danny Verdugo's recommendation, certainly made the tile type an easier decision. I choose the Ribtrax for its appearance and wear advantages over the Ribtrax Smooth. Now...deciding on design and colors was a bit more challenging but went with a combination of Slate Grey, Pearl Grey with Racing Red accent pieces and leading edges. Can't wait for its arrival tomorrow. Garage got a thorough "shop vac" treatment today.
Hey Miata13, we're stoked to hear the video was such a help in your decision! Slate Grey, Pearl Grey and Racing Red - one of our favourite combos! Enjoy your awesome new space!
Hello! I have an attached, heated/cooled 2-car garage that doubles as my office (work from home). My young girls also play barefoot often in the garage space while I work. The only vehicles in the garage are motorcycles, bikes, toys. It seems like you're a much bigger fan of the regular Ribtrax, but I can't help but feel as though the smooth will be better for me to walk out to in socks or barefoot and the girls run along for long periods of time.
Hi Trevor. Yes, I am a big fan of the Ribtrax however your situation would have me recommending the smooth to you. Although both would work well, the smooth may give you the best over the long term. I am trying to work on my bias and create more equal content for all products. Thanks for stopping past our channel. - Kelly
Lovely video. Just what I was looking for. I think I am going to go with the regular Swisstrax (not the smooth ones). I’d highly recommend you to improve the sound quality of your videos. It will really improve the overall quality of your videos. The very same video with a lavalier mic (or boom) would have been much more easier to watch. Thank you so much for such valuable information! Cheers to your success!
Is the Ribtrax uncomfortable to walk on in socks or barefoot? The smooth would obviously be more comfortable, but I'd be using in a garage that is prone to salt, debri, snow, etc. So I don't want the tile to look dirty.
I wouldn't say its uncomfortable. It's different but most people don't have an issue. The main thing is as it's a curved top the snow, salt & debris will fall down into the cracks and then in the dryer months you can give it a vacuum or clean out. With the Smoothtrax, all that stuff will sit more on the top and be harder to suck up with a vacuum.
Hey Dino, the tiles are the same price. Ribtrax is our most popular tile. With the Smoothtrax, you have to clean a little more because they aren't perforated. They are a flat surface so technically they mark more easily.
Hi John! They are non-slip thanks to the ribs and perforations. The water will flow through the tile and evaporate over time due to air flow. Thanks! I’ll invest in it for sure.

Which one would you suggest for :
1. Garage
2. Gym
For garage, Ribtrax. For gym, depending on what exercise you're doing or what machines you have, could be either.
What's the cost difference between the two?. Also is the smooth as popular?

Are they slippery with wet bare feet?

Its possible to mix Smooth and not smooth together
Hi Francis! Yes, all Swisstrax tiles seamlessly interlock with each other. You can pair Smoothtrax with Ribtrax, Diamondtrax or Vinyltrax.
