Keisha’s song was the beginning of an ongoing story between all Kendricks albums. Keisha’s song, goes with the second verse of sing about me and also relates to God is Gangsta (U). In sing about me he talks about the girls sister not being happy with him talking about this and how she’ll keep doing what she does bc she needs to to be able to survive. However, in U Kendrick talks about after all of that, the price of fame has meant that he hasn’t been able to reach his sister and he’s looking at all his efforts wondering if they were futile
What makes this song really special is that he made it for his sister and couldn't save her from it. So on to pimp he had a song the (drunk one) where hes venting also had a song on GKMC that talks about a robbery that went wrong and in real life his friends passed in a similar way to the song so it make that drunk song even more powerful because it comes from a real place .
Totally agreed. Mortal Man deals with so many things, Kendrick as an artist, as a person, his opinions on fame and what it can bring, on himself and others. Then also his fandom, and over that, like almost every track on TPAB, it fucking slaps.
OMFGGGG. I’m about to cry lmfaooo. I’m so glad y’all reacted to this. Keisha’s Song was my introduction to Kendrick and what officially what made me a fan.
Man I LOVE these sudden unexpected reactions to these master songs. Like Kendrick, he is a lyrical master with mad flow switches. I hope you will listen to everything of him. (Not even react, just listen :))
Now to my suggestions Big L - Casualties of a dice game Mata Ace - Block episodes Lupe Fiasco - Just Might Be Ok Ghostface Killah - Maxine Ghostface Killa - Shakey Dog Joel Ortiz - Phone DMX - The Convo Atmosphere - The waitress Mr. J Medeiros - Constance Some of these artist aren't well known. I consider myself a student of hip hop, so watching your journey has been great. You are picking up on and appreciating many of the subtleties of the music that most people don't. Having that said, these are some artist that have influenced some of the artist you speak highly of, Joyner Lucas, J Cole, and the GOAT Kendrick. Big L had a major influence on Jay-Z, if that means anything. All of these songs are stand alone songs and don't need much album context to enjoy. Hate to be a jerk but I will be suggesting Casulties of a Dice Game, on every video you post, until you review it. I promise once you listen you'll understand why.
I honestly think he will be considered the best rapper of all time once he retires or stops. For me Him, jayz, and andre 3000 are the epitome of creative consistency in rap. Nobody releases that many good albums with different concepts, sounds, intentions, etc. He has the best storytelling, beats, album concepts, features, and voice inflection of any rapper today.
@@Youre No he wasn't. I've been listening to em his entire career. Hes never been this talented. Em can rap yes, but he also says a bunch of nothing that rhymes, and has a ton on near rhymes. Em has made far too many bad songs where ive yet to hear a bad song from kendrick. Quality of music wise, no one, not nas, jay, big, pac, etc has put out the quality of music as kendrick has in the first 2 to 4 projects.

Great vid as always. If you like story telling creating a universe of sorts then you have to give lupe another chance. He introduces a character "the cool" in his first album and the second album massively expands on this. It's so good.
It’s more like Brenda’s got a baby by Tupac because for the Section 80 Album he had a dream that he was talking to Tupac and by that conversation he was inspired. You can get some of the explanation on the Hiii Power video
D.R.U.G.S. is a great place to start with ab soul. Its not listed as a feature because he doesn't have a verse but Mac Miller is in it. They speak about drug addiction (obviously) and it's an incredible song imo.
Dunno if you guys are still doing this. Found your videos today and been binging watchin them today. Vox has a video about the art of Rhymes and lyrics, deconstructing hip hop, and i highly recommend it.
Any chance of Reacting to some live performance videos? aka “denzel curry @woohah” “travis scott astroworld tour” ect not the whole concert just a couple of songs or something🤷🏽♂️
I know you all have done a lot of Kendrick on the channel, but apparently the bonus tracks for Good Kidd M.a.a.d City are split between Apple Music and Spotify. You two should definitely react to Collect Calls. It's one of his most underrated yet extremely powerful songs.
Hey guys, it would be really amazing if you could check out some of Macklemore’s old stuff such as Othersise, Starting Over, Same Love etc. He’s really underrated because he’s known for only his fun songs like Thrift Shop and Can’t Hold Us, but he’s actually very lyrical and talented. Love the channel, been watching since the first logic video!
Guys, love the channel! Why not do more reactions to some old school British stuff too? There will be loads of hip hop you’ve missed if you’ve been metal heads since kids... Keep at it 🤜🏻
We want some ab soul reactions. Songs like Bohemian Grove, Track two, Huey knew then, Black lip bastard (black hippy), Illuminate and Terrorist threats are great af. If you wanna cry one day on cam then read about alori Joh and listen to the book of soul

Every member of TDE needs a week of your time. Also, Freddie Gibbs needs more love asap. Start with Currensy and Gibbs - Scottie Pippen. Crushed Glass is another one, perfect for a first time listen reaction. Yall gonna lose ya shit.
Section 80 was 2011 actually, LOVE this channel btw. I’m blown away by your open mindedness

A Tribe Called Quest - Electric Relaxation
Been asking for Tribe since they only had 50k subscribers.

Smoothest beat ever
Any Tribe :D Low-End Theory or Midnight Marauders are my personal favorite albums.
Classic
Kendricks entire discography intertwines into one long story. DAMN is mean to be listened to backwards as well.
Then you realise the second verse of *Sing about me* is directly related to this song
This song is deep af. Underrated as ever w Kendrick
His Pain - Kendrick Lamar & BJ The Chicago Kid
That one is good too
That would be amazing
This one right here!

If we're talking Kendrick lamar, React to Mortal Man. Thats probably the realest song i've listened to by him.

React to Earl Sweatshirt featuring Vince Staples & Casey Veggies - Hive.
About his little sister he mentions her again on U after she got pregnant at 16 saying he felt he wasn't there for her after he got famous

Novacane - Frank Ocean it’s one of his best songs imo
Dominik you can say that for any of his songs
Finally. Been waiting for this. Pure 🔥🔥🔥
4:59 you hit on the head man that's not music its art its poetry manifest.
That end part when he talks about playing this for his sister always gives me chills
A$ap Ferg - Floor Seats! That beat is so fire, sampling The Prodigy. Plus the video is in a similiar style to Rocky's, I think you'll like it.
That is because A$AP Mob has their own in-house director
