Hiya Mike, just found your channel when I was looking to get an LDV in a few months. In regards to grays online, i have bought 2 cars from there and given the prices for these with no reserves, I expected there to be things that require attention etc. having said that I bought a car from there 12 months ago that was still in registration and initially drove perfectly. looked very clean with everything appearing to be ok. Nearly home after picking up and the CVT started to hunt a little. I got a filter kit and fluid to service the transmission and to see what I might find, found moisture in the transmission oil, oil cooler had failed and allowed water into the transmission. Being a CVT your looking anywhere between $4-$7G for refurb. Pretty frustrating but as I said you expect a few little things but not to have to rebuild the transmission. There was no printed notice that there were any pre-existing faults with the transmission. Frustrating but that’s the risk of buying from an auction house I always thought.. Cheers
Hey Mate, Thanks for the video. I bought an Audi A6 in 2022 and I'm going through the redress process now. Car was brought to us and it had crazy loud timing chain rattle. Passenger side doors were from a pre facelift model, door didn't lock and engine was misfiring. My fault for buying a car totally unseen but i did it for the adventure lol. Hopefully i get a %30 refund since i don't have the car anymore. Sold it at a loss. I'm sure theres alot more people that have been affected by this but won't get notified. But anyways yeah never buying from grays again.
