One thing I've done with tuning the group 2 and group C cars is throw on the customizable manual transmission instead of the customizable racing transmission. the pp hit isn't as much as the racing transmission. Shifts are dreadfully slow but it'll help lower the pp without sacrificing power or added ballast.
Thanks for the tuning tips. I’ve only been sim racing for a couple of months and I was shattered when they altered all the pp’s. When I think of all the hard work that went into creating RUclips videos for tuning cars, they are all useless now. My favourite car for making credits at Tokyo is still the Suzuki Cappuccino. I can do the race in 25:30 and as I said I’m a beginner who still uses the automatic transmission. Obviously if you wall ride with the Escudo you can do faster times but playing properly, I love the Cappuccino and it does not appear to have been affected by update 1.49.
The Nissan R92CP is becoming almost undrivable along the main straight on Sardenga with my Fanatec GT DD Pro. The oscillations from the FFB it are crazy! This was not there before the physics update
This is what im talking about and this is why you cant fix cars atm but he doesnt seem to get how deep this runs into the game some cars really have no fix driveble yea off course but nowere near what they did
Yeah noted guys. I’m talking fixed with regard to getting the PP numbers back under the requirements. Other problems which are physics update related are out of my control but I will be keeping up with the developments and working to minimise the problems 👍🏻👍🏻
@@Doughtinator nah bro, nothing against your great work. Just sharing my experience of the new physics in the game. To the positive side the cappuccino 600 pp build now works on racing Medium and racing soft rotation with only 1 stop.
With the same settings as in the video? So you make the car's spring/damper/arb setting too hard at the rear and too soft at the front, i.e. you destroy the balance in the mechanical grip, also do the same in the aerodynamic balance and then you're surprised that such a setup that never works in reality and a real person would never drive, then it is also undriveable in the game?
I used to love messing around with the McLaren VGT, now that thing is undriveble. It doesn't brake, doesn't turn, and is terribly unstable. All it does well is spin.
It sucks that you have to make the cars worse in order to deal with the update. We're just constantly making them worse while they think they're making them better. And this is why I've never bothered learning tuning in-depth, because with every update they change something, and every now and again they rewrite the book.
I would highly suggest to not use a turbocharger so you don’t need ballast or power restrictor. With this you just have to adjust the ecu for 6-7 points. I get 1:31 lap times with the R92CP with controller and automatic transmission so this time should easy be beatable with a proper rig and manual transmission I would assume
It’s definitely something I need to test properly. For now. I just wanted to get a quick fix out for people. In my previous tests. Power usually outperforms lightweight at Sardegna. But a lot has changed with this update 👍🏻👍🏻
And whats your overall time?? It's always best to restrict power with the power restrictor rather than the ecu for starters so you may want to add it and restrict it that way. Sometimes and only sometimes it's best to keep it's original aspiration, if you look at it's acceleration times on the left in car settings you can check this yourself 👍
@PatSharpsMullett I agree- and you're definitely correct. I got into the habit of tuning to the numbers on the setting sheet turbo/NA What the sheet showed, was often not represented on track
I love the new physics! Much easier to catch slides. Using Fanatec DD PRO 8nm but first had to update firmware and readjust settings to get wheel dialed in. Hitting faster lap times on time trials and circuit experience. New physics requires more precise braking and turn angles into corners. Gotta turn cars with pedals now or else experience massive understeer.
All my tunes from before the update are all perfectly fine after the update (with VERY minor tweaks to adjust for PP level). I must be doing something drastically different (using realistic tuning methods is my approach), because ALL my cars are just fine. Even my FFB settings only had to be adjusted one click up (G923).
my c7 zr1, c6 zr1 and dodge demon are all undrivable, because of “immeasurable pp” they were all just fine before the update, and ofc it’s three of my highest horsepower cars.
Great! Due to time constraints, tunes that are more in demand will be given priority and addressed first. Thanks for your understanding and watching the video.
Just a quick heads up. I regularly rotate through the Gr.2 cars for Sardegna. Every car I've tried so far jumped up between 15-45 PP, except the CLK- LM, which dropped by about 3 or 4 PP. I have not tried it in the race yet to see how the physics change effects it though.
I really think tou may have not really identified the issues people are having The Ballistic as been the this was for as long as i had the game. I ourchased adter min of a year after release. I could be wrong in the moment The issues aeem to be on track were cars are overall have been having traction issues and unpredictable driving responses at any track. Anyone in the comments kind of seem like they are almost relearning the tracks? In my previous post talking about sport mode ManCup i jave not seem thay many yellow flags unless o drove with the E-B starting rating for beginners and i was so glad to get out of that group quickly
100% It's either a major F up by PD or a total slap in the face to people who have invested 2 years of time perfecting tunes. Either option is viable unfortunately
Did you try to drive the cars, chriss? With the changes, I've noticed a lot of drag from high rear down force. Try you toykyo build and tell me how it works for you, you realy need a fast car that handles well for that race now. We still need to look at it further, but the 600pp cars but the 600pp range got much harder to tune and race. I used to do 25 min runs with the escudo. That thing can barely be tuned for tokyo now
Yeah. A lot changed. More will change with 1.50 update patch too. I’ve driven some but not all yet. I’m holding off a bit until 1.50 when things should stabilise again.
Some of my cars have no measurable pp. Everything I drive now slides sideways as soon as I hit the brakes, straight line, no stick drift, touch brakes and cars pull left or right.
I'm fking hating it. I've read so many comments "ohh you just can't drive/ tune/ welcome to real world handling" Nahhh, sorry. I actually OWN one of the cars I'm trying to use in GT7 it doesn't spin as soon as I lift off the brakes.
Yeah, I'm having trouble with street cars mostly, I don't own a wheel so I don't race hard out with group cars. There are probably set ups to help, but holy shit, I shouldn't have to get sweaty trying to tune every street car in complicated settings just to drive it on the high speed ring ffs. A corvette c7 can't even take a banked turn at 180 anymore. Used to hold the nitrous down accelerating through it over 200. Coast In at 170, goes sideways immediately.
@@kirkmyers2116 Without seeing specifics I can't say for sure however I can give you an idea of things to look at. Ride height, are you running enough height especially on the side taking the forces of the banking causing the wheels to rub. Natural frequency takes the weight of the car when stood still but also has to account for any downforce, the faster youre going the more weight is being applied to the car through the downforce so youre natural frequency needs to be stiff enough to factor this in. Your roll bars combat side to side weight transfer under load which downforce and speed need to be accounted for. dampers don't seem to like stiff compression anymore, stiff compression on dampers resists bumps, kerbs etc causing the car to rebound of them with force, stiff expansion seems to be making the cars slide now as it doesnt seem to give any play. Try thinking of these whilst experimenting, hopefully it'll steer you in the right direction
@@kirkmyers2116 I've give you possible solutions and things to think about when making adjustments more specifcally aimed at the vette at high speed ring which by the way is far more difficult than you obviously realise because of the banking btw in regards to going 200mph in streetcars and you come back with what you did. You're probably you're biggest problem
Seriously, what PD just pulled is a Fking joke. All my 800pp builds are totalled. Not 1-5 points. 30-55 points. That's total BS. Players should have been given the option of updating to the new play. People have poured HOURS of their time into the game for PD to totally Fk them over. No explanation as to what has jacked up the points. It's actually a total slap in the face. My solution has been to go in to cars I've built to 700pp and ramp them up rather than totally nerf cars that were already performance limited to make it under 800
I get what you're saying, not sure how long you've been playing GT7 but this is now the 2nd time. Some cars have lost PP also so it's just the way it's calculated now, different emphasis on different factors more than likely. Also depends a little on the type of build you were running as to how much PP was affected and no doubt PD were accounting for in some way some of the downforce manipulation builds to lower PP like with the GrC builds at Sardegna. The older gr2 cars dropped PP on my builds and I was even able to use the McLaren MP4 again so it's not all doom and gloom for me at least
Like i said before not convinced of your tunes certainly not with the screwed up physics i wouldnt considder this a fix you can deal with it this way thats about it a fix has to come from PD
Yes. The goal here was to bring them back under the PP limits to get the cars legal again. Fine tuning and improvements will come later when the new physics updates become more stable. Most likely after 1.50 hot fix update 👍🏻
