Gurdjeiff is right. I've studied astrology for about 15 years now, and it continues to amaze me, and allows me to understand the depth and breadth of other people around me in a much more fundamental way than simply "getting to know someone."
@@Pondertainment At what level would you like to study? Linda Goodman's Sun Signs for beginners, or Robert Hand's Planets in Transit, are both very good and fairly basic. There are many levels to astrology and many, many books, including more ancient authors such as Ptolemy that are advanced readings.
@@Pondertainment Also, some great websites to put in your own information and see about yourself, Astrodienst is great, but is at a moderate to advanced level navigation, or Astrotheme is very good for basically getting to know the signs, planets, houses, etc. in a highly interactive natal chart, where you click on any symbol and it gives you the explanations. I am not affiliated with any of these sites or books I've mentioned, but I have found so much depth of clarity by using them. Good luck!

I recall reading that Gurdjieff said the influence of the earth and the sun on humans is so overwhelming that any effect of other planets and stars is virtually non existent.
I have read somewhere that it is the sunlight reflected off the planets which creates the influence. The light frequencies are changed after being reflected. You can argue like most "skeptics" about how it's "impossible that 'this' planet can cause 'that event or 'result'" but that's just the biased, closed mind of people who haven't actually studied it. I've never "lost an argument" to any non astrologer and would happily debate any of the "famous" skeptics like David Pakman (lol) or Richard Dawkins but I'm not "rich a d famous," lol. As to whether planets "cause" wars, as Gurdjieff said or not, I would only reword what he said: the planets REFLECT events here on Earth. As to "how"? Well, we're back to "proving the existence of God". But while we can be pretty sure that "God" doesn't exist, (at least not the "simplified" Stephen Fry version of God), we CAN prove that astrology works.

If we imagine 5 men born on the same date, in the same town. They would have the same planetary configuration as each other on their day of birth. And for each day onwards, the daily planetary configuration would contrast against their birthday configuration, the same way for each man. Providing the same external influence. But not all would be influenced by the planets in the same way each day because the events and nuances of daily life are always different for each man. Each has his own personal distractions and interactions which may dampen or reinforce the planetary influence on any given day.

Essence is how we are in our being. Personality is acquired from imitation and education. Astrology relates to how we are, not to what we have acquired or learned.

I see what you are saying. I don't know. Vāsanās may fall into that category as acquisitions transcending time as we know it. Then, the shift in the center of gravity may be what being efforts are aiming at, where personality becomes less dominant, and essence more prominent. How does this reconcile with losing ignorance, attachments, and clinging, to realize what is inherent in us already, as espoused in the arrival within one lifetime (like traveling the world in a dream, looking for our home, and waking up)?
This explained different types, but not how objects billions of miles away affect them. You are born with a slightly different background of the night sky, that's all.
This is an understandable point. Astrology is based on an underlying theory of how the emanations of these planets affect us. Sadly one must dig through a lot of fluff to get to any sort of truth, and how to judge and prove the truth is a whole nother animal
This misses the point. Edgar Cayce's cosmology, verse 16 chapter 8 of the Bhagavad Gita, and the study of vedic astrology and Ayurveda will be the answers you're looking for. Having an opinion or philosophy on astrology without practicing it yourself, is just conceited quiz like intelligence, which is not experience or useful and most importantly, not revealing of the truth.
Astronomy is observable fact, ironically, so is astrology. If scientists want to dispute astrology, they need to set up a fair test, created by astrologers, and dismiss it scientifically. The hypocrisy is that it just gets slandered and treated as not worth testing, because it's garbage to begin with. If you know astrology, you know these types of people have no spiritual influence, water constitutions in their makeup. Mostly air and earth, lacking fire and water. That may seem stupid to someone unversed in what I'm actually saying, but the moral of the story is; let astrology continue as is, worthy individuals will reveal the truths to themselves, and the intellectuals can feast on their own opinions.

We live in an information universe. That information is carried by light. Cut into a fibre optic cable and you will see light. That light carries information.
