  • This is the last of the KWZ inks that I have for you for now. I was given this bottle for review by Dromgoole's, and it's a super-dark dusky purple. I had to Google grey plums, and this is a pretty solid interpretation of the fruit. It probably doesn't taste as good, though. Don't drink the ink!
While it does look mostly black, I sometimes like having an ink that doesn't turn heads. One where I'm the only one who knows that it isn't just an average black ink.

I have spent WAY too much money at Dromgoole’s, but it’s such a great place to hang out! (I mean, not right now, because of that whole social distancing thing, plus the small fact that they and everybody else is closed for the month, but still, fun times.) Also, shout out to Dromgoole’s ink-guru Dillon, who REALLY knows his stuff.

My favorite journaling ink, maybe because I'm from a region of Poland that even hosts a Plum Fest :)

Definitely going to get this. I really like it. Thanks Mike. Will definitely tell Larry and Michael That i saw it on your channel. I’m really missing being at the store as it was my refuge.

I get it. I wish we had a rad hang out like that around here. And I appreciate the mention. It's really the only way that a vendor knows that a reviewer has helped someone find something that they want.

Very cool that you have a Rotring Initial! Did you know that it has a special system for stopping ink leaking into the cap on airplanes?

      The initial? I did not!

@@inkdependence Ya, if you look closely, engraved on the cap it says "APC SYSTEM" That stands for (something like) "Air Pressure Control System"

Thank you, Mike. No, don't drink the ink. But it writes quite lushly.

Does KWZ make a waterproof blue-black, as far as you know?

I asked around, and the consensus is that the iron gall inks are the only water proof ones in the line. I haven’t really used any, but I’ve heard good things.

Thanks. I have a waterproof blue-black, Noodler's 54th Massachusetts, which has a beautiful color, but dries any nib I have used with it. Very annoying. I am looking for another waterproof blue-black that behaves. Do you have any recommendations?

The more I see of KWZ the more I like. But I have Warsaw Dreaming on its way to me, so I’ll have to wait before I choose another almost-black!

Oh yeah, I liked that one too, and they’re much alike.

I like this one, although I already have a couple of deep purple inks. From the name I was expecting something else, like a misty greyish plum color rather than the color of the actual fruit, and that would have been a little more interesting to me because I don't have anything like that.
Your pronunciation of "shigure" wasn't bad, but Japanese generally doesn't emphasize one syllable over another, so "shi-gu-reh" instead of "shi-GU-reh."

Ah, good. Glad I didn’t totally wreck that pronunciation. 😅
