Same! But we moved when I was born so learning about it is really cool.

I've researched the Sheffield Castle for many years year's now and was astonished that when talking to many sheffielder's many years ago, they had no idea we even had a castle at one point, I know the roundheads destroyed the castle to prevent it ever being used again since it changed hands on a few occasions, but what really intrigues me is why was Sheffield castle so important that it was destroyed? so many other castles in the region and yet they still remain?
And also i would like to know why our Sheffield schools never taught anything about Sheffield's history and its castle.
