This could be a factor as to why so many people of our generation turned out to be peace loving , creative, generous and kind. One takeaway as an adult rewatching these beautiful pieces of music is that the songs were like early motivational and mindfulness teachings for kids. We need more of this in 2022...
Kids' TV was educational in that sense. The messages were simple, but they were about kindness and caring. Say what you want about the hippie thing, but peace, love, and understanding are still sorely needed in this violent time when fascism is rising.

Even though I went on to love rock like most kids back then...now that I'm a lot older and grew up in the sunshine pop era of the mid 60's, (had already moved on by 70/72...I've come full circle. For years now, I've gone back to enjoying a lot of groups others here have mentioned. Most of it is so much better than modern pop. From the writing to the production and performances, (not to mention a positive message),. Cheers.
Such that classic late 60s early 70s sound...has sounds of The Carpenters, Mammas and Pappas, Tommy James, 5th dimension ,The Monkees to name a few. They were really good songs, And if you want your fill of Joy.... Flickr Town is the song!
I’m thinkin I was 8 or 9 when I watched this show, I just remember thinkin this girl is soooo cute, such a sweet pretty radiant life, never forgot her, thought about her from time to time as an adult, now seeing these videos I’m thinkin she was my first love, even before Barbara Eden!
What’s wrong with them?? Other than the bugaloos theme and gna gna gna gna gna, all the songs are basically easy-going (dare I say bubblegum/sunshine pop?) 60s music that isn’t too different from that time
I know every krofft related video has the “hehehahaha overused weed joke” but I’m genuinely confused by what you’re talking abt since bugaloos songs are always positive and the definition of feel-good music..
@@HappycoloredGrimsbyPeople like to think some of the songs written for this show were created from stoners like Castles in the Air and Fly away with us
And the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness, patience, Faith, self-control,. Those are the fruits of the holy spirit in the Bible in Galatians 5; 22. I mean this in a gentle way but maybe you should not associate such things to drugs.
I remember the Banana Splits, especially their theme song. The rest of the show just rubbed me the wrong way and I would usually change the channel seeking something more interesting. I don't remember The Bugaloos at all. (I mean, couldn't they have found American teenagers to play these characters' parts?) I had heard of H.R. Puffinstuff, but chose not to watch it because I felt Sid & Marty Krofft's productions in general were the beginning of the dumbing down of America's children, "cutesie-izing" them into a herd of morons drooling in a corner somewhere. If you choose to flame me, just remember, this is a free country, free speech is in the Constitution and I really don't give a darn whether or not I have offended anyone.
The Kroffts wanted to capitalize on the Beatles so they had British actors/ musicians star in the show. For Pufnstuf the Kroffts wanted a Wizard of Oz like setting so they got Jack Wild from Oliver and they milked both shows for what was worth they also later settled for American actors for their later series Lidsville, Sigmund etc
wow, these songs suck. Anybody who compares this stuff to "Steppin' Stone" or "Last Train to Clarksville" is seriously demented. Pretty good singers, though.
“This is easily the worst krofft show” bro tried to use his own opinion as a fact even tho the bugaloos STILL has a fanbase to this day and is STILL fondly remembered just as much as H.R. pufnstuf, banana splits, and others

The pointless drudgery "responsibilities" that are forced upon us via society are pure maya, the actual deluded dream.
She was so pretty and her voice was so soothing. It was a nice change from my screaming mother.

Except for one episode. I'm not sure if the two actresses lip-syncs their lines or what. Joy and Benita swapped voices.
Brings me back to a happier simpler time.

Caroline Ellis was so damn fine back then.
So we're Big John,Wayne and Little John (IQ, Harmony and Courage plus lovely Joy).
Showed alot of leg for a kids show in the early 70s. Lol
Big John and little John could take me on a flying adventure anytime and Wayne can lead the way.
Sunshine Pop... the shortest musical era in history, I think. Sadly.
This left me in smiles. Thank you!
i used to love watching this show when i was a kid
Phill Collins tried out for the role of a Bugaloo- when he didn't get it, he joined a group named Genesis
Yeah, imagine him harmonizing as the Blonde GUITARIST not DRUMMER !!!! What the ?
That was great
I'd watch this show as a kid in the late 1970's and had the biggest crush on her!
Love this! ❤️🔥
So happy to be alive back then, hoping my kids can same the same some day.
I use to watch this show when I was a kid just to crush on Caroline.
Yeah...
God I love this show, it’s very cute and probably the most “simplest” Krofft show. Sure it still has its wacky stuff (obviously).
The music is cool, but what were the songwriters smoking when they wrote these songs?😊

I wonder how Soarky aged? We don't seem to have any current pictures of him.
Billy Barty who played Sparky on the show passed away over two decades ago
For those asking about Sparky,, that was the talented Billy Barty in costume, who passed away in 2000.
