One of the best shows of Nicolas Ghesquière. Very theatrical like in the Marc Jacobs days, but very chic, powerful and sober. Not over the top extra like Marc.

Unbelievably Amazing Collection Nicolas im blown away
Nicolas Ghesquiere presented a retro-Futuristic collection for Louis Vuitton, the references are strong in historical silhouettes, from the 1800s, 1920s, 1940s with a dash of the 80s conjugating the future. But that’s been the ethos of what Louis Vuitton under Ghesquiere is all about, history revitalizing the future. The stain glass print juxtaposed to solid blue panels tucked into a tweed skirt that was sooo fresh, the layered ensembles mainly the tan sweater overlaid with a houndstooth strapped dress shirt and mustard yellow suede trousers. This wouldn’t be a proper collection by Ghesquiere without their being some experimental elements of design,the cocoon shaped silhouettes of shirts, dresses, with the geometric designs atop my favorite being the black, grey geometric design and the ivory white a-line silhouette that took me back to the days when he was at Balenciaga. In all what a fabulous collection full of collectors items! Bravo Nicolas!!!

I think the general gist that Nicolas wanted was 'Time Travel', which he has been playing with somewhat for a few seasons now. The past flowing into the future.

He needs a break from Fashion or maybe it’s time for another brand. So over the LV girl- like who is she. Here or in the future ? This runway setting was the worst. The music was okay but I’m still bored. He keeps doing the same shoulder, the same thick clunky boot.
This is a collection of separates but I’m bored.
This opinion couldn't be more wrong, he is actually one of the only ones doing clothes nowadays and not capitalizing in the Louis Vuitton world... The brand needs a breath of fresh air and a low profile with quality clothes to it's survival, and that's what they are doing.
