Hey Chris, where do I buy some of those straps you used to secure your bike to the jack? I've got a craftsman jack that works pretty good for the 1 to 2 ft I get my bike off the ground occassionally.
If you ever try a Harbor Fright ride on lift with a HF chock on the front of it, you will wonder how you ever got by without it. It takes up a lot of space but I just park my bike on top of it and get off. I just ride on it and get off, no tie downs necessary and no wasted space in my shop. If I need to work on the front wheel I just tie it off and jack it up with a small jack of any kind, the deck has a drop out for the rear. 325.00 for it and the chock... Edit; and no worries about your belly pan... i.imgur.com/U4z4nAn.jpg
for added safety,if you are removing a tire, set the other tire on blocks so the loss of weight on 1 end of the bike will not make the bike want to tip or teeter.use cinder blocks or another method to rest the remaining tire on.you can't be to careful..good vid..thanks.
That’s a great lift bro. Mine is manual, and a little sketchy to use, because of the 3/4 frame under the engine, so it’s hard to find the balance point
I like the idea of cutting a section of belly pan away for the lift to fit secure against the bike. Is the cutaway piece discarded or reattached after taking the bike off the lift? Securing a bike to the lift can save grief and regret. The shop where I get tires for my 1800 drives the bike up on a bike lift and then places the bike on it’s center stand and then uses a ratchet strap between the stand and front engine guard before lifting the bike. Great ideas and video!
I also like the belly pan cut out. Do you know can I jack my 08 Gl1800 after putting the bike on the center stand so that I could remove the center stand. I don't have the pit bull jack I have the sears craftsman jack. I have the red one they offer not the yellow one.
Love the epoxy floor. Just purchased a new home with a garage and was looking at your epoxy floor video. I'm not saying it looks easy but it looks hard enough to get some help from my buddy who is a jack of all trades. I do have this question about it though. He said be careful cause the floor is slippery when it gets wet, Is that so?
jacksonf4 No, you can't put it under the frame in the back. The jack is under the pivot point on the centerstand. At least that's where mine is. It's safe for lift.
Thanks! after watching this video, I went out to my garage and did the exact same thing with my bulldog.
WOW....just seeing that Wing up off the ground gives me the shakes. Don't think I would have the nerve to ever do that.....
Thats not a 2022 bike.
That's quite apparent! The video is about 4 years ogo.😂
I thought from the title of the video you would be lifting a 2022 goldwing but you're not.
Would u suggest using a strong way jack. Doesn't appear to be as wide as the pit bull.

Hey, Chris. I purchased a pit bull today with a turntable on it. Have you used one? Do you have any advise on them?
nice vid....been looking at the pitt Bull...thanks
How did you set your pitbull jack without taking out the belly pan?
Nice. What is the items under the rear crash bar? Never seen those.

Where would you place the motorcycle jack under an f6b standard?
Very good video. I have the same type of jack without the air power. It sure makes it nice for servicing your bike.

No need to jack up the bike to replace the centerstand, just use the side kick stand.

Raphael Rivera you can add anti slip to the mixture
I noticed that you have what looks like Kuriakin highway pegs If that is what they are, how do you like them?
I love my Kuryakyn switch blades foot pegs.
Thanks great demonstration!
Excellent video Sir
Awesome lesson Mr. C.
Great vid. Thx.
Good job Chris!
Thanks chris
Chris, shouldn't jack be under the frame (in the back) instead of under the center stand? Is that safe?
jacksonf4 No, you can't put it under the frame in the back. The jack is under the pivot point on the centerstand. At least that's where mine is. It's safe for lift.
