Once again great review, and just so you know from all the reviews i have seen pretty much same reaction all around. Last year i ordered a left rx5 ultra waited 6 months and nothing from hoyt. Cancelled my order on first day of archery deer, i was quite disappointed. So my pro shop called me about 3 weeks before 2022 hoyt launch told me there was a 34 ata carbon and gave me a list of colors. I ordered a bow lefty, without looking at them or trying them out. From the reviews i have seen looks like i made the right decision. Hopefully i get it soon!.
It's been a good while my man. This makes me super happy that I skipped over the RX-5 after some thought. I just wasn't liking that you had to screw on a piece to get the in-line but with it being built in I have more confidence that nothing is going to fall off on me. I already called up my bow shop to get a left handed version in.
excellent decision. Hope I helped make up your mind. You wont regret it. Finest bow ever made. I've been into archery since 1990 and these new Mathews are nothing short of incredible.
I purchased the RX-5 Ultra back in May. I was shooting the RX-1 before that. It took Hoyt 6 months to get my RX-5 Ultra to me, and then a couple of weeks later this gets announced. Feels bad...

Didnt think that Mathews could make a better bow than the V3 series but I am one of the lucky people here in Indiana that is a proud new owner of a V3X. It's a great bow to shoot, unfortunately the speed is very slow to other Hoyt Bows of the past. If you could tweak the bow to shoot a 520 grain arrow at 280-290 FPS Hoyt would have the ultimate bow. I get that performance out of their Carbon Spyder Turbo at 73lbs and 30" draw.....
I have it maxed at 32 on the draw and it's 300 FPS with a 520 grain. Yes a shorter draw has a slower FPS but I think they were going for the longer draw crowd with this bow.
As someone that hasn't shot bows in many years. I was expecting some impressive advances in performance. The one you demo'd would get slaughtered by my 20 +/- year old Ultra Tech. With 400 carbons I was getting into the 380 fps and with 2514's at over 600 grains, still pushing into the 320's.
