Jake E Lee not only underrated as a Guitarist, but also as a composer. His melodic riffs are Legendary! Ozzy, Badlands Truly one of The GREATS🤙
I would love if Molly (or anybody really) reacted to Jake E. Lee's best guitar work in the band Badlands. Insane riffs and solos. The songs "High Wire" or "The Last Time" would be a good place to start.
Underrated? Nah.
You're not wrong... He's actually my favorite Ozzy Solo era gunslinger. Even over Randy (RIP). I just remember more of these riffs than any of the other guys' stuff
In the context of things Jake absolutely is the underrated player when considering Tony Iommi, Randy Rhodes, Zakk Wylde are all very famous guitar players in their own right. I don't think people in general gave Jake the love and fair shake they gave the others on that list and that's unfortunate because that boy can play the shit out of a guitar
and besides, he was more metal than Gillis hahah
Ozzy ALWAYS gets the best guitarists. Jake E. Lee being one of them.Absolute maestro
😂😂haha! Molly Boy! 65yr old me, close my eyes and listen to the guitar solo, then open my eyes and see the expression on your face and realise it's the same as mine. Haha. Love it.
Randy died in a plane crash in 1982. For the Bark at the Moon album Ozzy hired Jake E Lee, who did this solo
He didn't do just the solo...he wrote the album
Died about and hour north from where I live…it was a horrible day and I still feel horrible about it every time I hear Randy play…
...and in between Randy and Jake, Brad Gillis of Night Ranger stepped in to save the tour, with NO time to learn Randy's licks.
... and absolutely CRUSHED it. It's Brad on "Speak of the Devil."
R. I.P Randy 🙏🤘
❤️🔥The Prince of Darkness! Godfather of Metal! Yes Ozzy! This songs a Banger!! The first 2 solo albums of Ozzy are sensational! Enjoy it, Molls!😉❤️🔥🤘〽️
OZZY OSBOURN, ONE OF THE BEST.
Jake E. Lee One Of The Best!
I received this album as a christmas present in 1983 and wanted to listen to it right then. But we were going to my grandparents for christmas so I took it with me to listen to the album there. My Grandad agreed that I could play it, the look on his face was priceless. 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I did the same with fresh fruit for rotting vegetables by the Dead Kennedys back in the day. 😁
Great memory for you to have!
I enjoyed old school hard core back in the day - these days a mosh pit would kill me 🤣 @@keithfreeman7725
Great memories.
That's so funny! I received Saxon's 'Wheels of Steel' for my 12th birthday and drove my parents nuts with it.
That outro solo is legendary. Jake had a very melodic sense to his playing that hit different. Not to take away from Ozzy's other axe men... they are all top shelf in my book.
Jake E Lee is a killer guitarist and I'm glad he's getting more recognition lately. I highly recommend the band Badlands with singer Ray Gillen (who also sang in Black Sabbath briefly) and Jake E Lee who's absolutely slaying on those albums with insane riffs and solos. Still such an underrated band so it would be awesome if somebody reacted to them. The songs "High Wire" or "The Last Time" would be a good place to start.
You should check out Diary of a Madman. Absolute brilliance.
Musical perfection. Title track exhibit A.
yes
Yes! Personally think it’s Ozzy’s (solo) best song by far!
Check out Zakk Wylde - Black Label Society - "In This River" - Live in Paris. Zakk is Ozzy's former Guitarist. In This River is a song dedicated to Dime bag (Pantera).
The video for the recorded version of that track is heartbreaking but beautiful
Bring tissues
It's awesome. Very heartfelt
Zakk Wylde...another great rabbit hole from an amazing artist
Definitely the live version is an amazing performance 😊
Ozzy did this song live during a total eclipse a few years ago …they timed it so during the middle of the song it got completely dark …it’s on RUclips …very cool atmosphere✨
That was so cool!!
I had that Randy poster hanging in my dorm room back in 1987. My room mate introduced my to Ozzy. As a young black man, metal grabbed me quick. I've been a metal head ever since. Just saw Priest with my kid this year. Disturbed, Metallica, Megadeth, Queens Ryche, and Korn in the past few years. You can't kill rock and roll.
Jake was "My" Ozzy guitar god, because I was only 10 when Randy died. The Ultimate Sin was one of my first Ozzy records I didn't inherit from my brother. He took me to see Oz in Houston in 1986...where an unknown band opened for him and blew us all away.
At intermission I asked, "WHO tf was THAT?!"
My brother, Mr. Cool says,
"Oh, that's 'Metal-ikkah.' They're aight."
I NEVER let him live that down.😂
***CHANGES*** Find this duet he did with his daughter Kelly! Also must hear "Dreamer" and "Mama I'm Coming Home" and "Crazy Train"...and I happen to love "Crazy Babies" that I used to play for my kids and now for my grandkids....hahaha they end up awesome if you raise them on this stuff, just sayin'! :)
Mollyboy would’ve loved Headbangers Ball on MTV back in the day!🤘🏻
No matter where Ozzy played it was a hit. In his band and when he went solo. Great musician. Perfect bands put together.
That was Jake E Lee. I knew the solos were gonna grab you and I was gonna comment early but decided to wait until after. That smile on your face though! Says it all. Lmao
Jake E. Lee is so underrated! That solo is amazing, but I think his work on killer of giants is even better. So technical, I couldn’t even imagine coming up with an arrangement like that!
Imagine being 12 years old in 1983 and hearing this for the first time! (I don't have to)
Nice reaction! Jake E. Lee was excellent but Randy is a whole other level IMO.
DIARY OF A MADMAN
FLYING HIGH AGAIN
OVER THE MOUNTAIN
🔥🔥🔥
Now we’re talking! Can’t be a Brummie and not worship this legend
History, Tommy Aldridge is the drummer on the bark at the moon album. Carmine Appice , is the drummer in the video. But was only with Ozzy for a moment. Then Randy Castillo finished the tour and became Ozzy 's drummer for many years.
Listen to this track a few times... u will be Howling and headbanging at the end like me 🤘🏽🗣
The ending guitar solo is incredible. 🤘🎸
Trust me, we all want to hear these solos rolled back. You’re doing us a service 🫡
Saw OZZY on this tour in 1984 at Leeds Uni, I was 14 it was only my second gig, been a metal head ever since!!!
Jake is fucking awesome
Ozzy is already a Legend. Living Legend.
hell yes! you have every reason to proud of this dude from your home town! he's the OG metal singer!!! ...and for so many freeking decades...its unfathomable.
Ozzy is an innovator! He’s always had some of the greatest guitarists. Tony, Randy, Jake, Zakk and Gus. All are/ were incredible.
The guitarist is Jake E Lee and he is really amazing. He took over in Ozzy’s band after Randy passed.
If I can make a few suggestions, these are a few of my favorites from Ozzy….
Over the Mountain
Revelation (Mother Earth)
Mr. Tinkertrain
My absolute favorite though is the song Diary of a Madman. It is complete brilliance.
Diary is special masterpiece.
It's amazing how Jake E Lee (guitarist) encapsulated Randy Rhoad's sound perfectly on this track. 'Now You See It (Now You Don't)' is one of my favs. Wow man what an honour for you to receive that RR picture from the photographer!
OH MY!! Rockin young man-even if u only give us one Ozzy song a month I will love it!!🙂
You really should hit “I Don’t Know”. Absolute banger from Blizzard of Oz
And since you got Randy’s photo you neeeeeed more Rhoads in your life.
a fellow Brummie here.. 68 years old and a huge Sabbath and Ozzy fan. Seen Sabbath 4 times, first time in '72, and the last time at "the End" tour in Brum 2017. I was carried out half way through their set because I had been pogoing for 3 hours straight and hadn't taken a drink - collapsed through dehydration. The medics gave me 2 pints of water.... I said "thanks" and went straight back into the gig as they were playing Snowblind. Don't know if you know this, but Ozzy and the Sabbath are HUGE Aston Villa fans, and Villa come onto the pitch to the sound of "Crazy Train". As a side note I was born in Brum, went to Art college in Exeter, Devon, then returned to Brum after graduating in 1978. Excellent reactions, keep up the good work
Another Brummie. Remember the good old Odeon on New Street, everyone played there.
Fellow Brummie here, I actually live on the virtual doorstep of the Villa ground. Had Tom Hanks leaned against my back gate waiting on a match just a few months ago 😂
Geezer Butler is known to be here pretty regularly to catch a game
@@mariannetuite7411 hey, I've been a season ticket holder for years and years.... used to stand on the Holte in the 60's 70's, 80's before having 3 kids and now sit in the North stand. As you say Geezer attends matches on a regular basis... and asked to have his "walk of fame" honour presented to him on the pitch by Tony Iommi. Heavy Metal legends, and Villa legends too.
Jake E’s solo ending the song is epic!
Another one with Jake and Ozzy is Shot in the dark, love it
All these years later and that guitar playing from Jake still gets me going. Jeez that is still great.
Ozzy Repping Your Hometown I Believe
Okay...get ready...I have to hug you now. Ozzy has been my happy place since I was 13 (that was 44 years ago), and you just made me cry with nostalgia.
Those 2 solos are absolutely beautiful
The way you're going, you're going to renounce HipHop and become a full-on metal head, and I'm here for it! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
My crazy uncle introduced me to Ozzy in the 70’s
This has always been my favorite Ozzy song. The solo right before the end has always been my favorite bit
Randy Rhoads passed the year before this track was released. Jake E. Lee is on the guitar here.
Man, Ozzy has had the best axemen by his side for his entire career
I had the pleasure of seeing Ozzy in concert twice, front row one of those times & it was...as you would expect...utter madness! 🤘
May 6, 1984 Hampton, Va with Accept opening, I was there 🤘 also listen to Flying High Again 👍
He gotta react to 'Fast as a Shark'..
My favorite Halloween song to play. BARK AT THE MOON. The guitar outro is insane! I still howl
MollyBoy, so happy you tackled this song. Muchas Gracias.
This was one of the songs that got me into heavy metal in the early 80s and I never get tired of hearing this classic tune. It is so damn good!
Ozzy has so many great classics. You can’t go wrong with Over the Mountain, Crazy Babies, Flying High Again or Miracle Man.
The follow up album to this, Ultimate Sin, had banger after banger after banger tracks. The Killer of Giants intro gives me goosebumps every time I hear it...
Taking the Ozzy solo route should eventually lead you to Zakk Wylde - sometime Ozzy guitarist, frontman of Black Label Society and Pride & Glory, current touring guitarist with what’s left of Pantera.
He is a wonder on the guitar and one of the filthiest voices (this is a compliment 😂) of our time.
Alongside all his own great work, he does an incredible live cover of Leon Russell’s A Song For You
Pride and Glory. One of the best albums I own.
I got to hang out and drink with him once. He's a trip!!
@@brettkenschaft4239I met him after a gig in London. He sure is
@@jasonetheridge2349same
You should check out the live version during the solar eclipse
Jake and his badass Charvel guitars. Man he's so damn good. Great musician.
Ozzy,.. great, great,.. ever !!!
I saw this tour in 84....had 1st row, caught a bass pick from Bob Daisley, still have it this day.....Motley Crue "Shout at the Devil" tour opened for Ozzy ...a tour where was reported of Ozzy snorting a line of ANTS🤣
One of the legendary riffs and solo's. Jake is the man!
Shot in the dark is a phenomenal song!!!!
You definitely need to check out "Diary of a Madman" which was Randy's last album. Also "The Ultimate Sin" is a banger!!!
Jake E Lee was the guitar player, who is an incredible guitar player, seen he and Ozzy six times live and they were incredible together. Very underrated guitarist, excellent song writer 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
WOOOOOOHOOOOO!!! OZZY!!!! This one's STILL one of my FAVS!!! There were many nights of drinking with my college friends and singing this and Mr. Crowley and CRAZY TRAIN at the top of our lungs!! HUGS, MOLS!!
that Randy Rhoads photo is superb!
love this song and Mr. Crowley -- probably my top 2 ozzy songs
🤠
MB you have every right to be proud of Ozzy and his accomplishments. Many great musicians have come from your side of the pond.
I only got to see Ozzy once but I think the date on which I got to see him was perfect for an Ozzy concert October 31st!
Ozzy is shininig bright always, he is not from our planet.
This 1981/82 era.... i was in high school and this dominated MTV and Headbangers Ball
Ozzy had the blessing of being surrounded with top notch musicians. Jake was great with Ozzy.
And screwed over a lot of them
This is my fave Ozzy song! Love this heavy metal banger! 🤘🤘
I love this entire album. Was played repeatedly in my 8th and 9th grade years in school.
Your gonna love this ride!!
I saw Ozzy in concert in Birmingham, Alabama here in the States.
Notice how metal makes you feel a little better when your sick.
My first Ozzy album. That was a fantastic summer! Jake’s guitar is what makes this song for me. His chugs are so meaty, and his solos deserve their own videos … they tell a story all their own. MöB, thanks, and what an amazing photo of Randy! Looking forward to unboxing. 😊
Jake E. Lee......one of the greatest guitarist of the 80's. The live recordings from 86 with Jake on guitar are kick ass.
The year was 1983 tunnneee gr8 album jake e lee incredible on the guitar
I hope you feel better!!! I love OZZY!!!❤❤❤
1983 when i was 21 years old when album came out
Ozzy went on tour with Metallica and they wouldnt come out of the dressing room , Ozzy thought they were weird but they were in awe of Ozzy
This is what i grew up on so it's nostalgic 🥰
Both my parents loved Ozzy. They'd play it while cleaning and even had the VHS tapes 😅
one of my heroes Ozzy , went to OZ Fest for 3 or 4 years fab
Ozzy is your birthright bro!
This is the music I listened to in the 80's, it was my favorite then, and it is still my favorite now. Along with Metallica, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden. Add LOVEBITES to this list and you get the best metal in the world. 🤘
Jake had some ENORMOUS shoes to fill, but I think he did a great job! You should check out some stuff from his later band, Badlands.
F**k yeah !!!! That's in my top Ozzy songs !!
Have a good weekend MB. You may like a lot of Ozzy tunes. Crazy Babies, No More Tears...etc. Get well soon! All the best.
I love Ozzy's voice too!
Really cool video as always! You HAVE to listen to "patient number 9", "shot in the dark", "hellraiser" and "mama im coming home" just to name a few bangers! keep it up
Dreamer is an Ozzy must and Mama I'm coming home. Great reaction as usual my friend and Peace out 🙏 ✌️ ☮️
Think you could like "No More Tears" from Ozzy...
Ozzy Osbourne Started with Randy Rhodes , this is Jake E. Lee on bark at the moon , and then Zach Wild , Ozzy gets the best guitarist , checkout over the mountain , flying high again or see you on the other side !!! All bangers !!! 🤘🔥🎸💯...
G O A T. I just came from the weekly family podcast on YT. The universe thinks I need more Ozzy in my life today apparently so let's go!
Me too lol
My fingers are numb from hearing that solo
Grand Funk Railroad
“Inside Looking Out” the live version
Listen in awe and you'll hear him, bark at the moon! Another suggestion (that we all keep yelling at you over and over 😁) is Killer Of Giants. That was one of the 1st Ozzy songs (if not the 1st) that I really loved when 1st hearing him back in '86.
It's a great album that still lives in the shadows Randy Rhoads.
Jake E Lee, amazing guitarist!! Check out his band Badlands - song "Dreams In The Dark'
Ozzy certainly had an eye for talented guitarists.
I was 19 when this came out. It went OFF. Great times.
Ozzy Osbourne - vocals, werewolf.
Don Airey - keyboards.
Carmine Appice - drums.
Bob Daisley - bass.
Jake E. Lee - guitar.
Must do some reactions to Tribute to Randy Rhoades album. Randy live is when he really let loose. Like a supernova.
Best air guitar album ever!
