Well the game looks and plays great imo on the iPad Pro M1…I gave up console playing long ago, so maybe my standards are less than others, but people complaining about the graphics not being perfect is so nitpicky to me. We got a great game on a freaking iPad people, and it plays extremely well, and as I said, the graph is to me look really great. And speak for the phone version, but still nitpicking about a massive game on a phone. Yes, the touch controls suck ass, but these specific games just like resident evil are made to play with a controller. And the game only cost $20 usd. Keep these games coming Apple. I’ll keep buying, and so will a lot of other people.
I think if you view this as a way to pick up and play a bit on the go, then it's fine. Then resume on your Mac. Like RE4, I don't think you really want to play the whole game this way unless it's all you have.

I don‘t understand the need to port AAA console games to mobile phones, that are inferior in terms of power (that gap is closing quickly though), on-screen controls, space and most of all cooling. To me, ports like these are the opposite of what mobile (phone) gaming is about. I‘ll take a small portrait indie game that nails gameplay and plays brilliantly on touch over the biggest AAA port any day. Couldn‘t care less about latest graphics.
I have an iphone as well but I am not willing to sacrifice its battery and performance when I can just play on my PS5 and my 55" OLED TV. I am not playing on a small screen just to heat up my phone which is more expensive than my PS5.
I was exited about 3D games on phones in the early 2010s but I didn't play them much because the gaming experience with the on-screen controls and small screen which is also covered by your fingers was so bad none of the games were really something I would want to play. They were good as tech demos but not as actual games. Games like that also need a lot more time to play than most small mobile games that open quickly and can be played for few minutes while waiting for a bus or something. Desktops, laptops and consoles are a LOT better for games that take more time to play, even just the controls and ergonomics alone makes it a lot better gaming experience
Looks like it’s running at ultra low settings which doesn’t look good enough especially with the low FPS, much rather have a lower spec iPhone and with the money saved have a portable gaming device like Steamdeck or ROG Ally
Even though the performance isn’t that great. I still it’s very impressive that this game is running on an iPhone. Look at the performance for some of the games on the Nintendo Switch, it’s not that great at times. From a technical standpoint it’s very impressive to see this game on an iPhone. I’m sure there’s going to be performance updates
Here commenting to ask if anyone has played on M1 macbook pro, 16 gbs mem. I am VERY impressed by how it runs re4 (with 30 fps but idc about frame rate as a long time switch player lmao) so I'd have to think this could be about the same..? especially because it was a base ps4 game.
If there was a porting of this title on Asus Rogphone8pro it would certainly have a much better graphic performance than iphone15pro! I'm seeing various gameplays and it doesn't look like ray tracing at all as you passed off as innovative! When it arrives on Android only then will we see who holds the scepter of the best
I am still absolutely blown away that we are able to play games like these on a PHONE! It's just insane and I'm glad to see Apple enabling developers to do this. I see this as a stepping stone and future iPhones will completely smooth out these titles and they'll be there ready for new devices.

Now I just don’t understand why I paid so much money, I’m completely disappointed, the battery is terribly weak, 3 small spots appeared on the screen, I think it’s burned out pixels, I’m so shocked and just disappointed in their products that I’ll soon post on Facebook and all social networks! I've been using the phone for exactly a month and the screen is already covered, I don't even know what happened to it... and I'm also completely disappointed that the game Resident Evil Village is advertised as having cool graphics like 15pro and max, I downloaded it and what do you think? The battery was gone in 30 minutes. can you play like this? :)) I remind you once again that I paid $2060 for the device, my monthly salary! and the screen has already received 3 points from the inside within 1 month of using the phone. I think people miss the point , it’s a phone and years ago this wasn’t even a dream so yea if they get older titles ported over then it’ll be great , but once again it’s a phone and it’s fine that it drops the quality .
How many years ago? CSR2 is a 2017 game and yet it has better looking car models than FH5 (and by extension FM23). It wasn't ever a question that phones can push a lot of geometry, high framerates, massive resolutions, manage the same number of AI background tasks and all the rest... it was a question of how much of these things phones can do all at the same time at the same level of fidelity of say... as Apple put it PS5. The answer is that iPhone is pushing a PS5 as if that PS5 were running at about ~15% of its maximum in this titles... That's a really rough estimate assuming iPhone 15 Pro can run this game at a native 720p, which it isn't, at a locked 30FPS, which it can't, at the same level of visual fidelity as PS5 which it also can't manage. So, really, we're looking at the possibility that iPhone 15 Pro can, very euphemistically, match a PS5, if only that PS5 was cut down to almost 1/7th it's normal compute performance level! 'What an amazing thing to behold!' Said next to no one on Earth. Add to that the fact that he stated battery life is literally about 2 hours and temperatures reached 50°C (122°F). That isn't good for the battery in multiple ways including stability. Charging any lithium battery at those temps is... not smart. Letting the battery get that hot is not good.
@@VariantAEC Man first world crybabies are something else , I’m glad I grew up early in tech and appreciate how far we have come . @@oo--7714 CSR2 looks rather great even on a TV screen (even without AA at all), especially in comparison to FH5... That says something. Sure, the gane itself is simplistic and pretty bleh being honest. I agree with that, but we're talking about getting console level graphics on a phone... we had that back in 2017. After that we had GRID Autosport (a PC/PS3/Xbox 360 title) and Alien: Isolation (PC/PS4/Xbox One title that was originally developed for PS3/Xbox 360), both of which were ported to phones by Feral Interactive. The iPhone 13 Pro was able to run Alien: Isolation at 60FPS in native resolution for some time before thermal throttling with one video serving as possible evidence to that. Of course, GRID Autosport and Alien: Isolation only look impressive on phones. I first played Alien: Isolation on mobile and was impressed... but not enough to fork over $40 for the PC or console version. I did eventually play the PS4 version on PS5 via PS Plus and was no longer impressed by the mobile port. The game wss clearly made for PS3 era HW and the once almost horrifying alien was now a bit of a joke on the big screen. Watching DS being played at a quite obviously lower than normal resolution at a pretty bad 30FPS (often times lower than 30FPS) performance level... not impressive. It would be impressive if the game ran at 30FPS consistently and at a native 720p. This game is not rendering at a native 720p and MetalFX isn't hiding the sub-native 720p resolution at all. CSR2 runs at a resolution above 720p native and manages a consistent 30FPS or 40FPS if you have a powerful phone. Aliasing is still present, but less obvious and performance is much improved. CSR2 convinces you that it is a higher quality game than it really is using flashy visuals that actually hold up compared to some PC titles. Which is why I'm comparing CSR2 to FH5!
@@oo--7714 Death Stranding was native 900p on PS4 if not 1080p. The two Resident Evil games on iPhone were 1080p or darn near it on PS4 as well, and on top of that, I think last gen resi games ran at 60FPS or at least managed framerates above 30FPS consistently. What about iPhone... oh, right, sub 720p30 with worse graphics. Sure, it runs natively. That's great. Don't get that twisted, but it's not a great experience, and the iPhone 15 Pro can barely handle Death Stranding or the other two ports. So what is the point of trying to pump up the weak sauce that is iPhone 15 Pro? There are objectively more powerful Android phones on the market right now and even before the iPhone 15 Pro launched we had the S23 line and several other Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 devices that were more capable when it came to gaming performance, none of those SoC's would likely be taking this game up to native 720p and a stable 30FPS. So don't make it out like I'm an Android fanboy either. The simple and obvious reality is that mobile phones just aren't capable of running a game like Death Stranding at a native 720p and 30FPS today. As it stands, it might be another generation or two just to get this game running at a stable 30FPS as is.
This kind of triple A games are just unsuitable for phone, it will heat up your system & throttle unless Apple comes up with a phone that can do active cooling like red magic series.
Imagine playing Death Stranding with below average graphics on a $1000+ phone, along with other problems as mentioned in the video. PS4 came in 2013 and it is dirt cheap now, plays DS and other titles flawlessly. But Apple fanboys still say its a miracle or something that this phone runs DS. Thank you for the review! It’s amazing as an idea but let’s be real why would anyone degrade and destroy their battery over a game I mean you will reach battery life 80% in 2 months playing this game or the other 2
Well the game looks and plays great imo on the iPad Pro M1…I gave up console playing long ago, so maybe my standards are less than others, but people complaining about the graphics not being perfect is so nitpicky to me.
Still amazing that its possible, it'll be there for the next gens hopefully and hopefully improve
You kinda sound like snaps from Harry Potter that’s so cool
Be sure to report those crashes and dumps in TestFlight. Helps the devs fix it.
Apple needs better head dissipation if they want to make the iPhone phones gaming machines
I really appreciate your reviews.
Bro why would you play games on a mac
Hope the game gets more optimized in the future, it have the potential!
Does it support Apple Vision Pro ?
Any video on the mac performance? m1 vs m2? Interested how my Macbook M2 Pro would handle it
I think if you view this as a way to pick up and play a bit on the go, then it's fine. Then resume on your Mac. Like RE4, I don't think you really want to play the whole game this way unless it's all you have.
Only that it plays on a console in your hand it’s a miracle. 2025 will be fine
Developers should start working on android devices like redmagic and ASUS because they have cooling and can sustain performance for long period of time
not only that but they can sustain higher res because Adreno is that better than gpu in A17
Apple probably funded these ports, so we need a company that uses Android to do the same thing.
@@ThereIsOnlyOneRandom Yes and no, Android still relies on OpenGL ES a bit too much. Preventing a low access to the GPU.
Apple's Metal API is a lot better.
I'd say it's time for Android to move over to Vulkan exclusively. But it's not happening any time soon.
i had a joke, now iPhone 15 Pro is dead stranding, trying to save its battery
will you test on Apple Vision Pro?
The gap will never be closed, unless PC sized phones are in demand
It's just a marketing tactic to say our device can run aaa game
@@crimson414 For a couple of minutes, before screen dims, and you burn your hands.
struggling keeping 30 and yet lighter games like temple run and subway surfer still lag on my iphone 15 pro max 1tb embarrassing at this point
Looks like it’s running at ultra low settings which doesn’t look good enough especially with the low FPS, much rather have a lower spec iPhone and with the money saved have a portable gaming device like Steamdeck or ROG Ally
Arent the cutscenes are just mp4 files? Im like ofc its gonna have constant 30fps. Dunno.
Not all, many are realtime
Even though the performance isn’t that great. I still it’s very impressive that this game is running on an iPhone. Look at the performance for some of the games on the Nintendo Switch, it’s not that great at times. From a technical standpoint it’s very impressive to see this game on an iPhone. I’m sure there’s going to be performance updates
Any chance to try it with iPad M1/M2 ?
No noto vibracion en el mando, no es compatible en este juego?
Here commenting to ask if anyone has played on M1 macbook pro, 16 gbs mem. I am VERY impressed by how it runs re4 (with 30 fps but idc about frame rate as a long time switch player lmao) so I'd have to think this could be about the same..? especially because it was a base ps4 game.
Imo apple should increase the tdp limit a little bit compromising the thermal limit

I change my phone every 2-3 years, I love Apple for their designs and quality of technology, they have it. I felt the real problem with the phone battery when I switched from 10 to 13 pro, after 2 years I bought 15pro 1TB, I paid 2,060 $ in Israel. It's a pity for the money and complete disappointment in the company...
i have been playing with Ipad mini 3 Gen, it was 720-1080 with 30fps approximetly, however if ever they will introude better cooling system, atleast seperate one, it might get much better. And ya, make general mobile claw for AAA games, this bare simulation of Controller, f u c c ing succs.
Apple never assumed that this would replace a console or even a gaming hand held , it’s a testament to what we are capable of and more in the coming years. It’s not perfect and I don’t act like it is , but say you’re kid and you were playing the game and then you gotta leave for a short trip , you could easily get some progress done and deal with the lesser quality because it’ll be harder to pick up. It’s like people bitch that something doesn’t have VRR or can’t play something at 120fps at 4k it immediately because shit or unoptimized which is retarded .
@@VariantAEC csr2 is a drag raving game, not open world nor even impressive in its own right it looks bad. And it isn't really running at 15% of a ps5, it is a 4 watt machine. And all of these ps4 games required upscalling from low resolutions

CSR2 looks rather great even on a TV screen (even without AA at all), especially in comparison to FH5...

Death Stranding was native 900p on PS4 if not 1080p.
Heck even emulator games works better than this port.
And DS is one of the best game Ive ever played, sad to see Apple made this game a joke.
Who plays AAA on Iphone? It costs $800, you got a paltry 128GB of storage and battery dies quick.
Umm it’s $1000 for iPhone pro and yeah I agree with ya

you already have a phone that can do most of that except playing these game

Wouldn't be much better, the game is cpu limited and the xpu in the 8 gen 3 is worse than the a17 bionic
I'll stick to playing on the PS5
So sad really i am not anymore interested i was so happy for this but the graphics and blurry pictures is so sad I just can’t in this price I would get pc, I will go with m3 128gb for normal games and buy pc that is better for me

maybe the only reason apple did metalfx because fsr or any upscaling method doesn't work in their chipset or os
don't spoil the story of the game by indicating the enemies!
So I just tried it out on my 15 pro max and the only time I saw any degradation in performance was in cutscenes. I’m up to where you meet die hardman and all the playable scenes have been fine so far bear in mind that’s roughly about two hours worth of gameplay.
I had it paired up with my backbone controller so no Bluetooth controller which may have given better performance but I’m not sure
This is why for mobile gaming I just use a ROG Ally or a GPD or Ayaneo equivalent
I suggest buy ps5 in 60thousand and play 4k 60fps not buying iPhone 15pro in 130000rupees
WHO's gonna play like this bruh these phones have very high resolution displays so a game this blurry gonna look bad as hell. Don't mind the performance but the visuals are really bad. And not to mention the battery life, its gonna drain like crazy if you live in a warm country. Its better to not play than play at a blurry AF res, framerate drops and battery drain tensions.
Just look at the Ram usage its a wooping 5.5+ Gigs ofcourse the iphone gonna crash with the low Ram
We need this on android!
I hope the four games announced for iOS come to Android eventually

Wow
Idk man I turn metal fx off in resident evil. These games can run fine they just need the right settings. My worry is the devs are gonna give us enough settings to mess around with.
Truly pathetic, why even release the game at this point rather than polishing it first

Why are people so surprised that a full-fledged game can run on a phone? It's as if there haven't been mobile gaming devices like various Nintendo and Sony PSPs, which cost three times less than this phone and provided a complete gaming experience.
Are you seriously THAT SLOW??
Smartphones aren't dedicated gaming devices. Not even the Red Magic 9 Pro with its active cooling fan.
Nintendo Switch however is a dedicated gaming device which has active cooling.
iPhones DON'T.
That's why people are surprised.
Is it about the cooling? Seriously? Those gaming devices came out years ago and cost several times less.
