I lived in Boston a couple of times... where Guruji Yoganananda did for a couple of years when he first came to USA. I used to go to cathedrals all over the city and I would be the only one there and meditate and pray and commune with Paramahansa
My best advice for anyone who wants to fast and not suffer, first, detox all processed foods for a week, the second week only consume proteins and whole carbs such as fruit (otherwise, no carbs). The third week, begin a one day fast, then eat low carb for a day and back to fasting… and when you’re ready, go for 2 days then 3. When you break a fast, al ata do it slowly and with gentle foods, such an unsweetened yogurt and berries. Then have more in about 1-2 hours. You will get very sick if you do not first train your body so please know that if you do experience that, it’s only because your body is in shock. So easy does it 🙏
A 3 day fast is incredibly life affirming. My experience was that by the 3rd day my sense of well-being was hightened like I have never felt previously, and even regretted having to break it the following day.
@@geshan777when someone says they fasted for 5 days, they literally mean no food for that time (always lots of water tho). Otherwise it’s not fasting, it’s intermittent fasting. Which is also good but not as powerful.

There are many ways to fast. Taking juice is but one. Water only is the most simple fast, but may be difficult for some. A juice fast, or watered down juice fast, may be easier for those people. My Japanese sensei (teacher), conducts one week fasts of one small grain and vegetable meal per day (a half-fast). This is chewed 200 times per mouthful - with exceptional results. Chewing is a forgotten healing art (Guruji advised us to chew more for health in one of his talks). In any case, cutting down on our intake, if we are prone to excessive eating, can only be beneficial.
When he was a boy he was uncomfortably skinny. He wanted to put on weight and tried various material things such as tonics but did not get the results he sought. Many people who lived with him thought he had the most beautiful face and body.

I do fasting and intermittent fasting since 1,5 year and as we BOTH know, fasting on the orange juice is not fasting. This can be called : detox , but not fasting because orange juice is sugar = insuline production and that means no autophagy. Sugar = insuline = no ketogenic state of the body.
@@underwaterpassion thanks for answering. In my experience anything you ingest different from water starts insulin production, which puts you out of fasting negating all the rest (autophagy, etc). But you can still keep yourself in ketogenic state even after insulin is ON if you manage to be very low carb. Proteins or fats start insulin production too. In advanced stages of prolonged fasting I’ve noticed that I remain “keto-adapted” after eating certain amount of carbs. Here I can include fruits like oranges, or whatever that also includes fructose. In other words, body has become so adapted that it would require a lot of juice , processed food or crap at higher frequencies to not snap back There’s so much intelligence inside us and homeostasis is very underestimated.

72 hours, water, black tea and coffee, obviously no milk or sugar. Feeling amazing 😊 zero food, juice etc. Obviously
