Great breakdown of the Tempest Rising faction, this game has deeper mechanics than I initially thought. 👍 I hope this game will be financially successful , the RTS genre needs a comeback.
Thanks for the clarifications, it plays just different enough from C&C that I feel like I missed a few things. Definitely this seems like one of the frontrunners of RTS games. Some of the controls are a bit awkward tbh. I had difficulty getting units to just attack all buildings in a certain radius (couldn't get defend area to do that), and if you double-press a control group number it doesn't immediately take you to them, you need to double-press TWICE for some reason. The units' pathing also seems weird, sometimes they seem to take a very long route. But overall it's very promising, and I'll definitely be getting it when it comes out! :D
Hello! Thank you for the feedback and for sharing your experience with the demo. I know it looks more like C&C than some of the controls and options show and I think it is for the best. It is a new game for a new age, inspired by an old game. There are many aspects players like you and I are leaving feedback about and I am sure the developers will continue to improve the game.
About the double-press of a group, that's intentional design. Pressing once is just to select the group, which is useful if you just want to move the group to where you're currently viewing, or to send them to a part of the minimap quickly.
@@corynanni1461Right, but the issue that the original commenter said was that he would have to double press twice in order to be moved to the screen where the units are, which is essentially four presses to do what should be done in only two typically.
What a super nice video. I haven't had the opportunity to play as much (endeavor is still waiting for me to press the play button -_- ) but Tempest Rising is definitely the top tier RTS of 2025.
Had a chance to play the demo for a bit. First impression is that the game feels very polished and the graphics are looking good. Unit sizing could be tweaked a bit if you ask me. Infantry is relatively big. Hopefully the game will do well.
Hi and thank you kindly for sharing your impressions of the demo! The level of polish and graphics is definitely putting it ahead. Also the number and verity of units, abilities and upgrades
Its quite overwhelming, the amount of units and variety available. I just hope they shape the campaign around learning how to use each unit as the story unfolds.
I'm really looking forward to this. But the one thing I find absolutely terrible are the construction menu hotkeys. The F-keys? Really devs? I hope they have an alternate default setup by launch, cuz it feels terrible, lol.
i noticed that if you want to build Gates you either need a complete Wall at least 6 tiles long (first and sixth tile can be Turrets) *OR* you need a Wall with a 4 tile Gap the Gap can even be outside your actual Building Area
11:20 - I have always found funny how infrantry is so resistable at 125mm tank grenades in RTS games 😂 Despite that, I am looking forward to this game very very much ! 💪
HMm i like the options but why is that not in the control group menu and is hiding away in the options menu? The one with syncro movement and not attacking buildings. Otherwise pretty good i don't like red alert's style building but this seems beter paces and less sweaty? I have it already downloaded will see soon.
Yeah, you are right and I agree, those two commands should be like Shift + T or something not in a menu. And thx for sharing your thoughts and impressions. Hope you enjoy the demo!
I need to find time to play that latest demo before is taken down again. But i am a bit disappointed. Why only 9maps to game upon release? What happened to the good old times when we had dozens of maps for skirmish?😢
Hi and thx for the comment, hope you do. Rising costs of development as well as complexity. Making a map in the unreal engine in 2024 is probably not as easy as it was back in 2D times in 1990+. But I am just guessing here.
I wonder how to select ALL troops or fast select constuction buildings. Its so hard to image a 2025 year RTS without them. And demo have not any tutorial or key binding to check
Does this game have shift+[control group] for adding units/buildings to control groups? I've been trying to play the demo a bit but this doesn't seem to be a function in the game and it's driving me mad, and the build menu hotkeys. Hope they add full keybinding settings for the full release otherwise I might skip this one, which would be a shame since it does look like something I would enjoy if the controls were more ideal for me.
Hmm, do you mean just adding a unit into a group without calling up the whole group first? I am not sure I was using the old school system of expanding the group after adding it unit to a new selection. I play hundreds of RTS games and honestly can't keep all the functions of each in my head.
Oh, you have to select the group first? That's odd. Granted, I used to play rts when I was 6 or something with only the mouse, lol. Started to get back into it the past year and have been playing BAR, SC2 and Sins 2 so those are my points of comparison.
BAR and Sins 2 (kinda) have autogrouping and in SC 2 shift adding is what I use a lot. I would have expected this game to have something similar to it since the skeleton is similar.
It might, I have to actually go back into the game to check, as I play so many different games I can't keep every command per game separate in my mind.
Well it isn't about the it is just how these mechanics work and they function from the very start. I mean they could do some sort of starting cooldown to prevent it ...
great gameplay with awesome graphics, however too much micromanagement and options for my taste, i will be getting global conflagration or red chaos the strict order. much more user friendly.
These games need a hotkey tutorial. The game felt super clunky to me, but i know I'm probably missing out on controles. For example i would try to move and then shift+f to patrol, but that never worked. So i would have to move, then come back once the units arrived to patrol.
Full controller support please. The arguments for "KB/M only" makes less and less sense today. It just restricts the RTS genre at the desk and gives no option to a controller input that is growing in popularity with PC gamers. Command & Conquer 3/KW, Lord of the Rings BMFEII and Supreme Commander 2 all on the Xbox have great working controller schemes (obviously have to being on consoles) - Wheel menu - Expandable quick navigation minimap - double click and "shift" queue functions. @ on my opinion (I played RA3, Kane, Starcraft 2 and Warcraft 3) it is probably the best strategy for the last 11 years. (On my opinion only SC2 on its best days can be better than tempest)
Although current balance in this game is not terrible, but need some fixes. For example spheres of death should be removed from the game and some ONLY high damage or ONLY tanky unit should be added, from GDF side bomber must be balanced, I mean that it should one shot any troop but be weaker against buildings.
And probably Barrage should be slightly buffed because compering to bomber or “carrier”or even with weaker Dynasties copters it is weak (or maybe I don’t understand something)
I just hoje that they optimize this game, my PC can run sc2 but in this game i have to play at 900p, in having a lot of fun but i wish i could enjoy more of the graphics with my humble gtx750ti
@perafilozof I have played almost 12 pvp games. Iam not sure why GDF is so weak . I hope that you can send this to the devs . GDF needs a buff . We have tried almost all possibilities to win against DYN players it's impossible.
DYN upgrades faster than GDF . You can build high tear tanks faster than GDF . Also, DYN tanks are overpowered. Any good player can easily rush you 😪😪 hopefully they can buff GDf . Unfortunately, it needs a serious balance . This was one of the main issues.
To me personally sounds reasonable considering the quality level of graphics, sound, acting and cinematics. Also inflation. Which ever price I see, I divide it by 2 to get the previous price to make sense to my brain.
