      Thank you, Julie! Students often have trouble wrapping their heads around negative painting. If you can visualize what you're painting, it's a lot of fun.

    I enjoyed watching your process. I'm curious, why you chose to use warm colors in the nest in contrast to the cool grey in the photograph? Thank you.

      A good question! I could say that I wanted more color contrast with the eggs and the leaves in the background. I could also say that value is always more important than getting the hue right. But I suppose the real answer is that I love Mineral Violet, Quinacridone Gold and Light Red. Thanks for asking!
