Oh, the crazy things people do to Spitfires. Here's mine in 2007 filmed with a Yukon Gold potato. I still have it but my son neutral dropped the trans to show off to his friends and it destroyed the internals. I never fixed it. Does it go in the water? Yes, absolutely. But you need scuba gear to get it back out. I like your build... ruclips.net/video/RSPL5qxcq90/видео.html
Jamie just wanna say love this you genuinely can see the respect and love for all not just the 1000bhp shining expensive builds ....love it bro keeping it real 👍
Absolutely love it !!! In this world of super hot hatches with AWD that you can launch sub 4 seconds to 60 with one hand on the wheel, this is a proper drivers car, it requires skill, concentration, and sheer ballocks to drive fast.
You know when a man means business when he’s got his water meth tank in the cabin with the engine and the driver! Love it! Impressive build, thanks for the content Jamie 👍🏻 always entertaining to watch.
videos like this are far better than all these modern motors that are coming out already with Hight power that almost anyone can drive. get the wrong person in that thing and your probably looking at a funeral 😂
Normally the owners look worried when Jamie pedals it on but Mick look like he wanted to push Jamies foot down harder. Great build and engineering and all done in lockdown . Proper respect for this owner
I had a 1500 Spitfire in the late 80's and I now have a mk1 TT 225 I never thought of amalgamating the two! Really enjoyable video, thanks for uploading it.
Fair play to him, This is what its all about, Getting stuck in and doing as much as you can yourself. Would much rather see a home build than someone throw 50k at a tuner.
Now this is a proper supercar, no fuzz, no crazy tech, just pure driving joy. This crazy car has more personality as a million euro hypercar.. Sir.. you are a legend!!
i love the looks on the owners faces when u get u hands behind the wheel..its like they are either scared ur gna crash or brake their car.. or the first time they sat in the passanger seat and realize how fast there car is hahah.. love the vids :)
@Nick Truman You looked like you were loving being a passenger in this little beast! Exceptional build, man! That looks face bendingly fast! Roll on summer!
Very kool spitfire.. Such a unique build.. Nick just makes it sound so easy. The looks on your faces says it all.. Best way to kill the lock down blues.. 👍👍Nice work Nick!!
Really nice guy and what a car he has built. There needs to be more people like this, that actually create their own car, rather then just going to a company to do it all for you, must be some serious satisfaction from building something like this from scratch. This is serious engineering! What an experience it must be to build and drive something like that. Really good vid Jamie 🔥🔥
Yes, I tend to agree with that....... People used to ask me if my Spitfire goes in the water. I always said YES but leave out the fact that you would need scuba gear to get it back out. ruclips.net/video/RSPL5qxcq90/видео.html
I’m in the states and the Spitfire inspired my love for autos. It’s shape and size captured me. Love function over form and you can see the fabrication. My type of ride
What a build! The Owner has pulled off a brilliant one that you would not think possible! 👍👍 Great to see your channel growing and doing so well Jamie you are a nice a nice guy 👍👍
Thought that was a strut brace going across the engine but nope, just the rear window rolled up lol What a crazy but awesome build! It just goes to show that a hand full of cheap ingredients can make a very spicy sauce.
Another good thing to come out of lockdown, love this channel for its variety. Everyone gets catered for, classic , modern or just bat sh_t crazy. Hel , anything that is original and blows ya hair back.
Woah I never would’ve thought it was mid engine! I love this, now I want to know everything I can about it so I do something similar to mine. This is unbelievable it awesome! Nice job on the bodywork, can’t say I would be able to do that part myself.
That's the dictionary definition of 'built not bought' and 'smiles per miles' right there! Though I love both, there's something more authentic about a car built in someone's home workshop with what they can fetch over taking a mortgage out to send a brand new GTR to a top custom garage and drop a ton of notes. Big props to Nick and this wee monster he built! Top lad Jamie 👊
This is MAD ! .. Garden Tree dash , Sofa leather interior , home made Body panels. The Triumph Bitsa ! Absolutely love it , what a legend ! What a Guy !
Omg. Looks amazing!!! I've been building 1.8ts for about a decade. Honestly one of my FAVORITE engine platforms. Just so solid and easy to make stupid power out of easily. I have a k04 2.7tt that is rowdy and I honestly love my 1.8t as much or more. Just such a fun motor. Dang good job on this build! I wish my last 2 years of 'the world was forced to spiral into chaos ' was spent building that lol
Love it, heres me thinking i was mad trying to modify a skoda estate haha. Love the channel mate and love these showcases of peoples builds. Much respect from manchester
Wow what a car and tbf the acceleration on that is insane tbf. Please get this car back doing 0-60 times and 1/4 mile time would be nice to see it against another home build. Awesome video as always Jamie 👌
That thing is PROPER CRACKERS . Great Build Sir . Ingenuity 101 . Bit of fabrication and welding can probably make a MUCH larger Fuel Tank for it . Fabulous Toy . 🤘.
I’ve just come from the late brake show with a 917 road legal replica to this. I’m in car heaven and full kudos to the builder of this car. Geez I can’t even put two Lego blocks together. Loving this vid Jamie💯👍🏾
Love the budget/homemade aspect and that he has been happy to paint it with tins of Hammerite purely to serve a function and keep costs low. Did the car need to be SVA'd/Q after such major structural work or is it still just a spitfire?
It has a separate chassis as mentioned in the video, the drastically altered body would be classed as a re-body therefore IVA isn't required. However from what little I have seen of the build the original chassis is still there, apparently the Audi subframe and engine mounts fitted pretty closely so perhaps isn't modified much. Strictly speaking ANY modifications to a chassis requires IVA testing, by the way it doesn't necessarily mean it will automatically be given a Q plate when registered provided documentation on the age of the major parts.
Love love love it! What a crazy build. Top bloke and huge credit to him for taking on such a nuts, awesome project. Don't see many triumphs like that on the road 😂 Like my man below has said, definitely mad Max vibes.
Really not a fan of the music on this channel, but that's your choice dude! Another great build featured on your channel and it's so good to see such a chilled, knowledgeable owner and your enthusiasm! Your face and the rapidly blurring scenery were perfect indicators of just how fast thus car is!

فيديو رهيب جدا جدا 👍👍👍🤲🤲🤲😘
More of this😀
I didn't hear about this

Definitely quoting "the wife's watching" prices for his parts 🤣🤣🤣
😂
Plenty of £500 builds about 😂
😂😂
No I didn't spend our holiday money on a new dashboard, I found it in the garden
That's been at the back of the shed for years. Probably before your time darling.
“The turbo had gone so I HAD to buy a bigger turbo”
Royalty has spoken
Exactly what I did with my 1.8t hahaha
The unwritten law for any project car!
the perfect excuse hahaha
Some cars it just makes more sense, I can get a new Genuine turbo in my 1.9cdti for around £480 or go hybrid for £620, you already know my choice lol
A GT2860 won't make 400hp, just saying.
400hp, 685kg, mid-rear engined, three pedals and NO driver aids?! Gordon Murray would be proud.
Better power to weight than a veyron to the rear wheels what a legend!
No he wouldn't, it has a turbo
No he wouldn’t at all
Best build on the channel ever. Such an unique and legendary build and the owner is such a down to earth bloke! Amazing video Jamie!
Lovely car 🚗
Have to agree. The amount of money he spent on some of the things on it shows if u source well u can build yourself an amazing machine!
Don't forget the 3 wheel :D
Sweet name
Don't get me wrong it's an awesome build but nothing compares to the hayabusa bond bug
Jamie just wanna say love this you genuinely can see the respect and love for all not just the 1000bhp shining expensive builds ....love it bro keeping it real 👍
This is just as fast
Absolutely love it !!!
In this world of super hot hatches with AWD that you can launch sub 4 seconds to 60 with one hand on the wheel, this is a proper drivers car, it requires skill, concentration, and sheer ballocks to drive fast.
Unbelievable build, props to Nick. Quality vid 😂
What a build! brings a whole new meaning to home build having used the couch from the house and the tree from the garden 10/10 well played sir!! 🍻
You know when a man means business when he’s got his water meth tank in the cabin with the engine and the driver! Love it! Impressive build, thanks for the content Jamie 👍🏻 always entertaining to watch.

Actually the owner looked worried a few times when Jamie down changed too quick. If you watch the owners face its mad funny lol
Wicked car!! Respect to the owner for building such a mad, crazy, cool car.
I had a 1500 Spitfire in the late 80's and I now have a mk1 TT 225
I never thought of amalgamating the two!
Really enjoyable video, thanks for uploading it.
Fair play to him, This is what its all about, Getting stuck in and doing as much as you can yourself. Would much rather see a home build than someone throw 50k at a tuner.
I love it. Love how you give everyone a look in no car snobbery. He had too much time on his hands though 😊 that’s one crazy car….
What a build! Absolutely loving this great to see something built on a budget!
Brilliant content Jamie!
What a creation! Lovely to see the older generation enjoying themselves and being able to interact with us younger ones! Great video!
FairPlay to the owner, tbh those headlamps look amazing !
Fastest growing car channel on RUclips. Proud of you Jamie 🙏🔥
This has to be one of my favourite builds you've had on the channel...utterly in awe...
I love all the new cars and modern expensive builds but something like this on the channel is so refreshing!!
You can actually see the engine bouncing in the back there :o absolutely ridiculous but i love it!!
Now this is a proper supercar, no fuzz, no crazy tech, just pure driving joy. This crazy car has more personality as a million euro hypercar..
Sir.. you are a legend!!
Thank you 🙏
i love the looks on the owners faces when u get u hands behind the wheel..its like they are either scared ur gna crash or brake their car.. or the first time they sat in the passanger seat and realize how fast there car is hahah..
love the vids :)
Very true! I’ve never sat in the passenger seat before
@Nick Truman
You looked like you were loving being a passenger in this little beast!
Exceptional build, man! That looks face bendingly fast! Roll on summer!

This guy is so humble and cool I can’t believe he built something like this
I’m in the states and the Spitfire inspired my love for autos. It’s shape and size captured me. Love function over form and you can see the fabrication. My type of ride
It's nice to hear someone from over the pond showing love for our little quirky British sports cars!
Greetings from the UK!
What a build! The Owner has pulled off a brilliant one that you would not think possible! 👍👍 Great to see your channel growing and doing so well Jamie you are a nice a nice guy 👍👍
Built not bought!! Pure fire from the Spitfire 🔥🔥🔥
Thought that was a strut brace going across the engine but nope, just the rear window rolled up lol
What a crazy but awesome build!
It just goes to show that a hand full of cheap ingredients can make a very spicy sauce.
amazing build! really looks like a proper diy project. no shiny or fancy things but it is really nice
To borrow a phrase I once heard -- "it's so bananas, it spits out bright yellow bunches" 😁👍
Genuinely my favourite video you’ve released, so nice to just see a normal bloke with a super tight budget building something awesome!
Its bad azz seeing that fwd transmission stick out of the back! Reminds me of the rear transmission on Corvettes.
This is a bargain of the country well done mate 🙌
One of the best ever on the channel..
This is possibly the most insane car I’ve seen and is definitely the best use of covid lockdown time! Wow
Such a cool build, props to Nick. Love the video as always Jamie! 👌
This is such an incredible build and what a humble sound bloke. Top class 👏 👌
I wish I could attempt a build like that! Props to that fella for the cool project!!!
Another good thing to come out of lockdown, love this channel for its variety. Everyone gets catered for, classic , modern or just bat sh_t crazy. Hel , anything that is original and blows ya hair back.
Need a couple more lock down builds for some og battles lol
Quality can’t beat a bonkaz build for him to make a weapon like that during lockdown deserves mad respect 👏🏽
Woah I never would’ve thought it was mid engine! I love this, now I want to know everything I can about it so I do something similar to mine. This is unbelievable it awesome! Nice job on the bodywork, can’t say I would be able to do that part myself.
I saw this on FB it looked like a difficult build but you pulled it off!! Well done, sir!
Yaaaaaaaaaaas
What a great home build he taken meaning to another level - Respect
Need to get him back for some rolling races. 💨💨
That's the dictionary definition of 'built not bought' and 'smiles per miles' right there! Big props to Nick and this wee monster he built! Top lad Jamie 👊
The rear lights from the alfa 156 fits so well! What a cool project!
The massive fender wells really make this thing look amazing.
This is MAD ! .. Garden Tree dash , Sofa leather interior , home made Body panels. The Triumph Bitsa ! Absolutely love it , what a legend ! What a Guy !

Amazing. Nick has asserted himself as a legend. Just taken it. Well done.
I have a 65 Spitfire with the optional all steel removable top waiting for me to build it. So glad to see someone else build ones of these.
You have weird looking frogs where you come from 🤪
The 1st shots of the car with the music. Perfect.
That’s a cool build. Massive respect to him for building it.
Love it, heres me thinking i was mad trying to modify a skoda estate haha.

That thing is PROPER CRACKERS . Great Build Sir . Ingenuity 101 .
Bit of fabrication and welding can probably make a MUCH larger Fuel Tank for it .
Fabulous Toy . 🤘.
I will fit a bigger tank at some point, but other bits i want to do first

I’ve just come from the late brake show with a 917 road legal replica to this. I’m in car heaven and full kudos to the builder of this car. Geez I can’t even put two Lego blocks together. Loving this vid Jamie💯👍🏾

I think this is best lockdown build ive seen Jamie... great car with a best 1.8T motor in market.. love it!!
I admire people who have the abilities to build stuff themselves that works even though it’s completely improvised.
Properly green. Everything beyond that is utter madness,
LOVE IT.
idk wtf this is but it looks radical af b4 i even watch it this is awesome.... ps u got a new sub from me famz
I’ve seen this car from years ago in a facebook group I’m in about home built cars glad to see it in more detail!
Absolutely amazing. Great build!
A nice addition having the specs for the car on screen. another quality video 👌👍👍
This car is soooooo cool. Love the modifications and engineering that went into this car.
Love having these on here. What a machine. All brute force and ignorance.
Iver? Used to deliver milk to Sid James gaff in Iver. Fantastic build, well done.
I think this is my favourite build on the channel so down to earth ive followed him on Facebook what a legend
This fella is a beast yoo!.. Humble too, cool build for sure. Kudos. Salute
Flipping brilliant. Brilliant distraction from all the rubbish going on in the world. Very clever man. Throughly enjoyed this!!!
Love unique builds like this....all that's left of the spitfire was front wings bonnet and doors...lol
😃 Too cool! A proper homemade car indeed.
Love love love it! What a crazy build. Top bloke and huge credit to him for taking on such a nuts, awesome project. Don't see many triumphs like that on the road 😂
Like my man below has said, definitely mad Max vibes.
I like this spitaudi firefiesta MX.
Well, at least lockdown had one positive....it’s a mad thing that Triumph.
So obviously I love it.
Has to be up there with the Hayabusa powered 3 wheeler for me. Love the bonkers stuff. What a great guy too.
This car is definitely the spiritual other half of that bonkers Bond Bug!
Engine is practically on his lap 😂
Love it, such a unique build!!
Best feature ever. Car is done in true British spirit. Amazing owner and car.
The thing looks absolutely awful but there's no way you can hate... The things mad and made at home in the shed.. Mega respect and props 👍👍
Really not a fan of the music on this channel, but that's your choice dude!
Another great build featured on your channel and it's so good to see such a chilled, knowledgeable owner and your enthusiasm!
Your face and the rapidly blurring scenery were perfect indicators of just how fast thus car is!
Mate, your channel is AWESOME and you are genuinely entertaining and straight to the point !!
Love your channel and content !!
👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
What a cool build . Best part is the guy is sharing it with the world. So awesome!
Thank you
