The dialogue hits on entitlement, merit, and what real power and success are all about. Carl tells Eddie he hasn't "earned" his skills, saying true competence comes from grinding and experience, not just talent. It's a wake-up call for Eddie to realize that relying only on his super abilities won't cut it without some real-world hustle.

If you watched the movie. Eddie completely owns him in the end. He literally has a 4 digit IQ. No amount of experience can prepare you for someone like that. Having super intelligence allows you to maximize experience to the fullest. Some people play golf their entire lives, but still suck at it. Experience is not some panacea to getting wealth and power in life.

@@morpheusjones4384 It's actually a brutally blackpilling movie lmao. No amount of hard work can make up a substantial difference in talent.

It's so fun when movies want to pretend to know what intelligence is.

100% agree... And the look he gives while walking away... What an amazing actor. I wish there were more roles that fit his caliber as an artist.

Carl made his way to the top without NZT…imagine if he took some? Verne said it works better if you are already smart..Carl would have taken over the entire world.

Fun fact: I’m the book Eddie asks if his boss meant thousands and the boss is the one who says it’s millions.

Robert De Niro was barely relevant to the plot, but my gods did he make the most of his role.
