I remember one of theses in my grandparents garage .. Wish i knew what happened to it ...that was almost 60 years ago . life changes on a dime.. Cherish it.
I shure am proud of you taking the time to put this out!!! For years I've been trying to explain to people That can't believe that there was a time when there weren't no electrictricity out where we are!! I have a model 72 Maytag engine and a 1918 Delco generator fully functional among others that require explanation!! Because folks just don't know what they're looking at history!! As they gaze in amazement! Thank YOU for helping keep it alive!! GOD BLESS.
That was an awesome video but that was not the choke that was a fuel valve to the fuel air mixer I thought it was really cool to see somebody wash laundry two thumbs up from me
As you pointed out, your Maytag wringer washer was either a Model 32 or 33. I obtained the following information from the Maytag Collectors Club website: Maytag Model 32 & 33 32 was electric. 33 first model with 72 twin gasoline engine Did your Maytag Model 92 Multi-Motor single cylinder gasoline engine bolt onto the "X" frame without having to drill new holes for the engine? I am asking because I was not aware that a Model 92 would bolt onto the Maytag Model 33 wringer washer frame (which originally had a Maytag Model 72 Multi-Motor twin cylinder gasoline engine). Mark.
I was just waiting for her to say we push on the start button but she said the choker and I was like what !!!!? ⊙_⊙ and I thought that modern laundry is hard work
Yes dangerous, my aunt lost the end of her index finger to one of these machines. In a hurry and didn't use the stick to put the clothes threw the ringer.
Your right if you had money back in the day there might have been one of these on the back porch next to a tub with a washboard and another tub on the backside of the wringer to catch your fingers!!
I dont have it set up, but there would be 2 wash tubs on a stand behind the washer with fresh water in one. First ring out in one tub with water. Swish around in the fresh water. Ring out again into second tub and hang on the clothesline.
speed queen still makes good washers just don't buy from LG, Samsung, Whirltag, Kenmore, Frigidaire, and other brand out there and hopefully they will go out of business
The clothes couldn't have gotten that clean back then because the only problem is there is no rinse cycle so essentially a good amount of dirt is left behind.. We've come along way since then..
I didn't have it set up, but behind the washer they had two rinse tubs. The clothes fell in one the stir'd with a stick, the off to second tub to be rinsed again and then threw the ringer once more and hung on the wash line to dry.
Here is the answer:You had a tub of clean water to rinse the clothes in once they were sent through the wringer, then you placed the rinsed clothes in the wringer the second time. The clothes were not as clean as today's multiple rinsed clothing, but it beat the old hand wash board by a mile. Been there, done that.
I’ve had this washer as my profile photo for the past 6 years. I had no idea that’s how it works…, I love it!!!! Thank you
there was one like that on my grandpa's back porch when i was a kid . i played with it a lot . never saw it run though , thanks .
Thank you! This was fun. Love the Maytag. I have 2 copper Easy electrics circa 1925.

Thank you glad you enjoyed the video.
This is so cool and also hypnotic
Just found the next washer I'm buying for my wife. 😂
i wanted to buy it for my mom 😘 thank you
It's for sale, $350
Supposed to put your basket behind the wringer to catch them.
Nice washing machine...but i still love my LG washing machine...
yep it sure is best way to get em clean
Ahahaha! I just love it.... Especially when ya say warshed.... Love it....
That's how an agitator should work today. Beat them clothes clean in one minute
Which clothes are the clean ones? Why, they're the ones that smell like 2 stroke exhaust!
JasonGreek ~ I am quite surprised that Maytag would make such a noisy, stinky hit-n-miss 2-stroke.
Ours was electric. Great washers.
Good looking machine ..now that thing does a load of warsh right 👍
Imagina o cheiro de óleo 2 tempos depois de lavar muita roupa 😂😂😂😂
I got a 1940 Maytag electric is that machine every week you can't beat the Maytag ringers
It’s a model 31 or 32 washer and a model 92 engine.
That was an awesome video but that was not the choke that was a fuel valve to the fuel air mixer I thought it was really cool to see somebody wash laundry two thumbs up from me
Thanks
i have one down in the basement , think i will go look.
She sounds like Wendy Whiner.
that's the little motor I used to call lil putt put back in the 50's.
Ray Unseitig those maytag engines are probably the most collected engines by hit-n-miss enthusiasts. You can buy them on ebay fully restored for $800.
The pedal starter

'Hard Work' is relative; millions of people around the world still wash their clothes by beating them against rocks by the side of a river.
@@fixman88 no way you are kidding
Very neat
nice one runs well
Awesome 👌!!
👍
Iwas wondering if the end of your exhaust pipe is creating too much back pressure... seems like your engine is struggling some...
Thanks, I'll check that out.
My
90yr grandma belike:
It used to be a pain in the you know washing clothes
LoL
our machine was green porcelain on steel, the motor could run a saw too.
I easily counted at least 15 parts that can hurt you or damage the machine. The past was dangerous and expensive.

😅 this was back when things were made to last forever.
beautiful maytag brazil thank you kiss
Wow! Real cool! Uh-h-h!
Very nice, but what do you do for the rinse cycle?
I dont have it set up, but there would be 2 wash tubs on a stand behind the washer with fresh water in one. First ring out in one tub with water. Swish around in the fresh water. Ring out again into second tub and hang on the clothesline.
How many gallons of mix per wash ?
Never really measured but I say about a half of gallon
speed queen still makes good washers just don't buy from LG, Samsung, Whirltag, Kenmore, Frigidaire, and other brand out there and hopefully they will go out of business
Sounds like the choke is on
MarkHennessy ~ That's just how a hit-n-miss two stroke sounds. It never sounds just right.

Not sure what your asking? The hwy? It's hwy 23
we washed the dog in a maytag.
Ouch
Salam kenal pendatang baru kak
Fake washer. A real one in the US would be with a V8 engine and full of chrome.
That would really get the clothes clean. 😁
Очень крутая штука боюсь представить сколько она будет стоить лет через 10
Yes, like everything, the prices keep going up.
Warshin machine
