We as a family have really enjoyed these Line Upon Line series. The spiritual insights, historical facts and humor have appealed to adults and children alike. We look forward to more inspirational and educational output using this type of format.
They used to release them earlier, and we would use them as an intro to the week. Since they stopped doing that, I've discovered that it is also a great way to review the week before going to church. 😊
I think paid subscribers get them earlier. Because of their later release dates, we now use them to refresh our minds on Sabbath morning before attending church.
Our family has Home Evening on Sunday night, and we like to watch Line upon Line at the end of the lesson as a summary. The videos amazingly pull the scriptures and lesson topics together.
Making the skin of the Lamanintes darker than the Nephites reminds me that the notion of white skin superiority is still an issue. How do you think your videos make melanin-coated people feel? We need to fix this problem in the church.
We do our best to portray the written word. Because skin color is mentioned various times about the Lamanites, we don't believe this was merely symbolic. It also mentioned certain Nephities marked their foreheads to distinguish themselves. By no means do we believe that skin color alone denotes worthiness, and at various times the Lamanities were more righteous that the Nephites. It's just clear to us that there generally, as is written, there was a skin tone difference between the Nephities and Lamanites regardless others trying to interpret this differently, as unpopular as it might be.
