Hi Nick, this is Whitney Grant, Joseph’s daughter. THANK YOU for making this wonderful video and dedicating it to my Dad. He would have been so proud and honored! Thanks also to Slater Harrison and sciencetoymaker for initially contacting me due to his interest in Walkalong gliders. By the way, I still have my Dad’s original patent. It’s so interesting.
Hi Whitney, I am so honored that you watched my video and I really appreciate your kind words. Your dad is an inspiration to me, and he has inspired so many people with these amazing little gliders. Thanks again!
@@NickSchrader Hi Nick, thank you for answering me. Once again I want to tell you how much I loved your video. It has a very magic quality about it! I wanted to add a fun fact regarding my Dad and his glider. I remember seeing movies of him flying his planes outside and he believed at the time that his invention would be fun for both kids and adults. He talked to the “famous” toy company Milton Bradley in an effort to market his gliders. The company turned him down and didn’t think there would be much interest in Walkalong gliders. I guess my Dad had a vision way ahead of his time.
Thank you so much @Whitsend555 ! They certainly had no idea what they were missing out on. I plan to make more videos about walkalong gliders, and I am already experimenting with some really neat ways that they can be flown. I will let you know when the new videos are finished. Thanks again so much for your kind words!
Hello Whitney Grant, This is Phil Rossoni, author of Build and Pilot Your Own Walkalong Gliders. I'm so glad you are still involved with your father's work.
A stupid mistake on my part, I'll correct it in the description and will create a card in the video where I mention the website with a link to the correct address.
Wow! This should have 157 million views, not just 157! I love that cats can fly airplanes😂 Also can you tell us more about the endurance record mentioned near the end of the video? Is it officially recognized?
@@NickSchrader It took a few tries to get RUclips to accept my comment. The dastardly overlords kept deleting my messages to you. Had to be cryptic. And happy to help.
This video is typical Nick....well thought out and polished like a rare stone...only this stone is lighter than air but equally enduring in its originality and its amazing approach to the beauty of the world and what hides in plain sight.... when you listen to his caramel voice and allow the information to sink in, you cannot help but fall immediately into his trance....he could take almost any topic and create an amazing informative and video....he sees what is in "plain sight" and raises the curtain....he shows us what we all think we "perceive" and he turns it on its head...good one Nick!
Hello Nick, This is Phil Rossoni, author of Build and Pilot Your Own Walkalong Gliders. This video is so creative! Who would have thought you could fly a walkalong glider with a cat!! The laser levels and fog take air flow visualization to new heights. It beautifully shows the wake turbulence behind the paddle. Fantastic work!
Thank you for this excellent video. I was with an aviation related youth group in Australia and we tried and tried to perfect WAG flight with the cadet member. If we had this video at the time I am certain we would have succeeded. 🛬

How have I never heard of these before? Very interesting and well made video 👍
THE EDITING IS UNDERRATED!!!!!!
This feels like it should be an april fools video but its awesome that its not
Hey Nick I wanted to ask, do you have any more information on the walkalong glider endurance record mentioned near the end of this video?
I wish I did Michael! I found it on Guinness World Record's website. I tried really hard to find more information but I couldn't.
Wow! So impressed the flight made it into the record books! I think John Collins tried but couldn't get them to believe it.
o r g should be at the end of the toy address. Not c o m

How awesome. I’ve never heard of these walkalong gliders. My kids LOVE paper airplanes and would love using something like this.

Nick is great. I feel like he's somewhat kindred to the Bob Ross vibe. In his own style though.
Thanks so much Chris!

Thanks so much for watching, Phil! I am very honored to see you here. I greatly appreciate it!
Once again, you inspire me to go gliding. You always make these wonderfully impressive videos. Thank you my friend.
That was awesome and incredible - great job - great production - Put together very well. Now I want one :)
so simple, yet so fun
Wonderful video and who knew cats could fly gliders? This should have 1 million times the views it does
Thanks so much Michael! I'm absolutely loving your designs. I plan to make more videos about these fascinating little gliders.
@@NickSchraderAwesome! I hope to make some not-so-little gliders in the future, like 6 foot wingspan or so with some new construction techniques.
